We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. United StatesWonderful spot on Holbox with the huge sandbar. No stinky seaweed like other spots because of seawall to block it. Awesome helpful staff that just want to spoil you! Food & drink was great, especially the included breakfast!! & also seaside lunch was really good! Adult Pools tend to attract the gulls & other birds, which is kinda gross, but unavoidably I guess… Nice, quiet, comfortable spot! We’ll be back!

PolandLiterally nothing. Just remember you are surrounded by wildlife. Close your doors if you don't invite frogs, mosquitos or bugs inside and dont feed the racoon ;)
During last decade I visited over 150 hotels, including many 4/5 stars, and this one is easily in the top 3. - Location in the most picturesque and peaceful part of the island; - Very friendly and caring Staff in the reception & restaurants, - Great public areas - highly Instagramable pools, beach club, plenty of sunbeds etc. - We were super happy of our room with small private pool - convinient & with beatiful details like boho shower or underwater lights in the pool imitating bioluminescence, which is tha Island famous of.

PortugalNot necessarily about the property… just a heads up, there are a few raccoons that will open doors and get into your rooms, so make sure you lol n the doors.
The hotel is beautiful! We loved our 5 night stay. We booked the room with the small plunge pool and it was perfect. The pool is heated and you can actually call the reception to regulate the temperature. The hotel grounds are super relaxing and well decorated with plenty of space. We had lunch at the restaurant and loved it. Breakfast had plenty of different options you could choose from, amazing coffee and plant based milk. The mezcalitas by the pool were delicious as well. The hotel also has free bikes you can use. It’s definitely located on the nicest part of the island with beautiful beach right in front. It is a bit of a walk to town, about 20 mins.. but we literally walked there every night with no problem by the beach. Would 100% stay here again. Loved our stay!!

United StatesThe hot tub is luke warm, and can be used only if the weather is hot. It has a great view but no privacy, it's all exposed to anybody walking by. In general not enough privacy if you are not a couple, the shower is also separated by a glass door from the bathroom/toilet area. It can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on the situation. The room is spacious and trendy , but not enough countertop to leave your stuff. A little overpriced considering we paid almost $200 less per night for a two-storey cave apartment with a huge truly hot tub in Oia Santorini this summer....
The location, the beach in front is the best, in the best part of the island. The whole place is a paradise, very Instagram friendly.. The service is excellent, Ivan and all guys at the reception were very very helpfu,l and we had great communication from the beginning. Great breakfast, too

United StatesFood takes a long time to get served so take that into account when planning your day. We didnt mind too much but would be nice to get a little appetizer or something during the wait. As other have said, attention in the reception desk is not great, not really helpful and after paying a good amount of money on the hotel, tips etc they still asked us for an extra “maintenance guys” tip… a shame because the rest of the attention was great! Last thing to improve would be to allow room service in the mornings and not only for lunch and dinner
Everything was amazing. Comfortable rooms, clean and maintained facilities and lots of wildlife! The hotel is far from dowtown but we preferred it that way, it is one of the few hotels in the area where the beach and hotel are not separated by a road so its super quiet! The food at breakfast and lunch was AMAZING, best we’ve had in this part of Mexico. Dinner was ok, we mostly ordered room service as the price and quality for dinner wasn’t as good as lunch.

United KingdomAlthough the staff at the restaurant was genuinely polite, service and fetch time need to be improved and sped up. We enjoyed our stay overall and the time at the restaurant was pleasant however waiting time was indeed too long even for a quick lunch or breakfast time, also a bit of disorganization was clear with the commander, frequently served randomly. I would like to give it as feedback to contribute to a better service and avoid starving people's complaints.
Stunning location, everything at your convenience, facilities, restaurants, beach and room service. Huge king bed, coffee capsules and refill water provided daily. Room cleaning was immaculate making our stay very comfortable all the time. The infinity pool and the yoga location, also selection of complementary activities such as yoga class or sound healing. I love the fact that animals run freely and they take care of them, such as racoons or iguanas

United KingdomThere is nothing about the hotel that I didn't like, maybe the smelly seaweed on the small beach that they raked every day... maybe remove it... but for the rest everything is perfect
The village was wonderful, furnished with care and attention to every detail, the food was good, the cocktails too, the staff very friendly, the hotel is surrounded by greenery and you find a lot of animals like raccoons (Patrizio❤️) iguanas and birds, you can reach Punta Mosquito on foot and see the flamingos

IsraelThe hotel is in the middle of the jungle so you should take into consideration that you have animals all around you including some cute small lizards in your room:) In addition, the location is quite far from the city center, around 20-25min of walking.
The hotel is beautiful and the food is delicious. Amazing view right outside the room and the pool right next to the sea is stunning The staff was very nice and prepared our room with champagne and chocolates for our honeymoon.

United KingdomThe water was intermittent. Some days we had lovely hot water, some days it wasn’t very warm, every now and then we had no water at all (for brief periods only). There was work going on right at the bottom of the stairs to our room which was quite disruptive and my partner wasn’t keen on walking past several men to get to our room on her own. The front of house team could be a bit more attentive and responsive e.g. we messaged about transfers before we arrived and it took them a couple of days to reply; I asked about the work being done outside our room and no one came back to me. You’d expect better from a 5* hotel. The transfer we paid for to get to Cancun Airport arranged by the hotel was really expensive, and there were issues with the taxi driver getting us local ferry tickets instead of tourist (presumably to save himself $200 pesos). That became a bit stressful. Again, would expect better of a 5* hotel. Would recommend organising transport yourself.
Great location away from the busy part of the island. The facilities were nice - different lounger/bed options to chill out on; paddle boards to take out; nice pools. The restaurant was fantastic - great food (including a vegan menu), and really good staff. The room was nice and comfortable. Beautiful views out to the ocean. Would stay here again, regardless of the less positive things I have written in the next section.

Everything was amazing - the best 4 days and we wish we could have stayed longer. Lots of space and always found somewhere to lie or sit - food was great, staff very friendly and accommodating, rooms very comfortable. Very quiet too and away from the main area of restaurants and bars but this was no problem and a short walk in.

United StatesVillas Flamingos is located almost at the very end of the string of hotels on the island. This means that it's very quiet, but also that you'll probably want to call a taxi to go into town (otherwise it's a 25-30 minute walk). Not a negative, but just something to know.
My friend and I were looking for a relaxing, upscale spot to stay on Isla Holbox, and Villas Flamingos definitely delivered! The rooms and facilities are really nice, but it's really the staff that makes Villas Flamingos so special. Nothing was too much to ask. The restaurant is also incredible; we figured we'd be going into town for most meals, but we ended up eating at least 2 (and sometimes) 3 meals a day at Mangle. The pools, sand, and beach chairs were well looked-after, too.

CanadaThe room need a bit more of night light. The bar beside the front desk doesn't go according to the size of the hotel, to small and just in the corridor to the access of the rooms.
Very friendly staff, food a bit on the expensive side but really good. It has access to the nicest beach in Holbox, you can walk to Punta Mosquito. Our room was spacious and comfortable.

MexicoIn general, the staff wasn’t really welcoming. As we asked for simple things, like that our water cups be changed after a few days in, they treated it as a “favor” for us. Given the cost of the hotel, one would have expected a more efficient (and kinder) service.
The hotel is located in the nicest beach area of Holbox — less crowded and less seaweed. The ground and pools are quite nice, but some maintenance would be welcome (tiles coming off the bottom of the pool, for example). The breakfast is very good.

United KingdomThere wasn’t a great vibe at night because the bar area is very small so you do need to leave the hotel to get any of that atmosphere. They put quite a big mark up on trips and excursions.
The locations was the perfect distance from town so it was exclusive but not miles away. It was so quiet and relaxing to be away from the crowds on the main beach. The architecture was insane, they did such a good job of making it feel like you were cosy but in the elements. Ivan from guest services was brilliant!!
