Modern quirky design, well equipped and clean! The owners shared the story of the name behind BASED. They were warm and very welcoming. Eased my worry as no other place in Mersing was up to the standards we needed. Thank you so much for being very accommodative to our last minute booking.

Great location in town with plenty of parking and food options! Room was plenty spacious for a group of 6, with ample storage and leisure space. Rina was great in assisting us with the check in and out too.

I love the ambience of the apartment...even though it is in the centre of Mersing city, yet it's really soothing and calm. To access the apartment was easy, the owner will give you instruction through whatsapp once you booked the apartment. There's a lift too. On top of the building, there is a place to hang out where you can see nearly the whole of Mersing and do the cooking if you ask the owner. It is as advertised in the pictures. 👍

We were blown away by the studio at BASED in Mersing. There room smelt so clean and Rina was there to welcome us, she had also kindly left us some cool drinks in the fridge. The accommodation was like nothing else in Mersing, so pleased we could stay the night there.

The bed was not as comfortable as it appears to be. Somehow, the bed configuration was not great for us.

The location, how CLEAN it was, the amazing bathtub, and the included amenities. The overall design was very inviting and made it feel cozy.

Everything was wonderful

A friendly welcome. Very well organised with everything you need. Excellent and efficient communication to ensure easy check in. The building is located close to good restaurant and coffee shop and a short walk to the ferry. We had a great time and highly recommend Based to anyone looking for a comfortable and secure sanctuary

The only difficulty we had during our stay was when we ordered food from Grab - the property is so new that it didn't appear on the Grab app map or Google maps. But the driver was still able to find us without a problem.

The place was very clean. The host met us on arrival and was very friendly and helpful. The place is centrally located in Mersing and within a 5 minute walk to the ferry to the islands.

I didn't like how the curtains were see through, I know the windows had reflective film on the outside, but night time people would still able to see into my room because the outside is dark and my room has lights. The curtains might also be bad for guests trying to sleep in because they don't block sunlight at all. Otherwise nothing serious, just minor stuff that might make things easier for future guests such as having signage of the building's name on the outside, then inside there was no floor numbers (my room was on "Level 1" but I didn't know the entrance floor was considered "G" floor) nor room numbers (was told that my room was "the door to your right"). Also the shower's hot and cold water had no labels so had to test which is which, could maybe have a simple red and blue stickers to indicate hot and cold water.

Stayed for a night to catch an early ferry the next day. The building was clean and well-maintained, still looks brand new. My email didn't receive the PIN code for some reason, but they responded quickly when I called their number and then provided the PIN promptly. The building requires PIN access, as well as the room, so I feel quite secure. There is a small lift in the middle of the building so we did not have to lug our heavy suitcases up the stairs. The room was beautifully furnished and clean, with many amenities provided. They provided some refreshments in the fridge and bottled water. It is also only a short walk to the jetty, and there are many food options nearby. The room also had a self-cooking pot if one prefers to cook something simple. This place is a little pricey compared to other accommodations in the area, but I think it was worth the money. I would stay here again in the future if I come back to visit Tioman Island and need to catch an early ferry again.

Like a top level hotel room. Gorgeous apartment. Would highly recommend for anyone travelling to Mersing. Owner was so lovely.

The lift was a little slow but also quite funny.

Brand new and tastefully done. It’s not a traditional hotel with a manned lobby, but there’s nothing need as everything worked smoothly.

Nothing! An excellent stay.

Booked for one night as a stopover before catching a ferry. The property exceeded expectations. The access PIN number was provided the day before with detailed instructions how to access the property, we had no issue. Lift to transport luggage to upper levels. The room, and bathroom was clean, modern and very comfortable. Children were provided sofa beds with mattress toppers, and lovely, warm blankets. They were very comfortable and the children slept well. Hosts left a welcome card with their numbers, and some refreshments in the fridge. Contacted them reference parking and they came to the apartment to explain options. So friendly and very helpful! Lots of shops and restaurants outside the property, and only a few minute drive to the ferry port. Would definitely stay again in future and highly recommend.
