This is the best hostel I've evwr stayed in. I absolutely loved it & I'm still in disbelief that I stayed in such a supwr clean, super cozy, super friendly place for such a cheap price! I highly recommend this to everyone coming here, be it a solo traveller, couples or in group. 😊

Ceiling completely covered in fungus, whole room smelled like it. Toilet not flushing at all. Towels and beds smelled like dust and fungus. Outside communal area fully scratched up by cats and smelled like cat shit and pee.

My male friends stayed in the main building (mixed room) and the difference in comfort seemed quite big to me. So if you’re a female solo traveller I would definitely recommend taking the female dorm.

I stayed in the female dorm and this was amazing. We had a private bathroom and a shared living room, kitchen and terras. A real treat for a fair price. The facilities were perfect and the location is close to where most of the hikes are starting. They also have a bar where it’s really nice to go for some dancing and playing pool in the evening without the place becoming a relentless party hostel.

The only downside is just apartment is far from parking, with stairs. Not advisable for people with disabilities.

However big problem with the facility manager. We requested a room with private bathroom. The shower was leaking so we made our first night with a waterfall sound without managing to sleep properly. The next day the plumber came to repair, we had to wait because he forgot to return the key of the room. Without trying the repair to our surprise in the evening impossible to take a shower water does not flow. The manager offers at our request a simple refund of the difference between the private and shared bathroom or a refund of the night leaving from the establishment. The bad surprises do not end there when I specify that I will put a notice explaining all the inconveniences we had! The person responsible finally decides to give us back half of our night while we had left the room. The young man’s encounter with the reception has given us a solution. I find this behavior unacceptable it spoils the beauty of the place and puts in trouble employees all for a dishonest owner!

WARNING for everyone trying to book this hostel. The price listed on booking is not the full price. When we booked it originally it said there were no extra charges, but when we showed up we were asked to pay 90 ringot tourist fee. I told him that it's not fair to list one price on booking and charge another price when people show up, and that it was giving me scammy vibes. We argued a bit back and forth about the hidden fee but ended up paying the fee, since their cancelation policy only allows you to keep 50% if you cancel your booking. This is the main reason for the bad review, since their low price was one of our main reasons for booking it in the first place. Also staff was giving a very strange vibe. We felt unwelcome and were being unreasonably strict with their rules. On one occasion we were sat in the common room at 22.30 on a Saturday night speaking at a normal conversational volume without any music or alcohol and we were asked to be quiet or leave for the guests that were trying to sleep. This is a hostel and people should be allowed to meet and talk and have fun on a Saturday night without being told off by the staff.

Good location. Good common areas, fits a lot of people but was mostly empty. Lots of plants and cats to play around with. There was a cool bar with a pool table and good music, although it was almost always empty.

There are 2 parts to this hostel. I stayed in the new apartment 2 minutes away for my first 2 nights and it was so clean and quiet! The hostel itself had a kitchen, a lively bar, and lots of cats.

DO NOT STAY HERE. This is not jungle but a Concentration Camp It was the poorest hostel I had ever seen in my entire life. The environment was dirty, dusty, dark, no celling fans in the shared bedroom, and the ceiling & roof were about to fall down The entire house was like a Bangladesh refugee camp in a third-world country. What the F is this? Don't be scammed by the advertised photos I didn't expert the environment was that BAD. I thought it was Rm3x for a night which was reasonable but realized it was actually Rm3x for TWO nights after making the payment, I knew it was gonna be f up. Unfortunately I lost all the photos otherwise you could see how bad the place was. Those who left good reviews they probably quite enjoyed living in a third-world country I packed up all my stuff and freaking moved to "The Cocoon Backpacker Hotel" immediately after laying down on the bed for 30 minutes. The Cocoon is always the best choice if you have your own transport. Why did I stay here? It was peak season and I wanted to stay as near as possible with my friends. I wouldn't even visit there if I knew it was that poor.

To be honest, one of the worse hostels I've stayed lately. Walls are kind of paperboards so you can hear absolutely everything and everybody. The dorms on the 1st floor are smelly (maybe because of the humidity?) and they get very cold at night. Also, the kitchen is downstairs so when people cook, you get all the smell up to your room. The bathroom was a sad moment: not clean, only 4 showers for too many people; in the morning it was impossible to find one since it was always full and having hot water was mission almost impossible. And Cameron highlands is a cold place. They don't provide toilet paper for free, you need to buy it. Never saw that before. It was cheap, yes, but for the same price you can have much better un CH. I couldn't wait to leave ...

The staff is great! The lady was always smiling, the young man very helpful, giving a lot of tips about hikes and so. The location is also great, the hostel is in a very quiet street in town and they have a nice bar. Also, free hot/cold water dispenser. My dorm felt more like a tiny single room, which I liked, small but with a curtain for some privacy and separated from the rest of the beds.

There are a lot of note and informations all over the place. They all finish by "we gonna charge you if , or if not" you don't really feel welcomed. Even the toilet paper is not free which is shamefull, the shower was broken or really freezing.

The "private room within a dorm room" was not as private as it seems on the pictures. It's located on the hallway and just opposite of my room, there was another one. So, it wasn't necessarily quieter than in the dorm room. I did have more privacy and space though, which was nice. There is no locker for this room though, which is very unsafe. The room is only protected by a curtain. When I asked for toilet paper, the staff told me "oh no sorry, we don't have toilet paper for this room" :D. I got to buy some for 2 MYR after I pointed out a sign saying that you could buy it. In general, the staff didn't seem to know the answer to any of my questions, except the manager.

If you want to rest this is not your place, as you can hear all the talking from other rooms and the common area. Also, they charged me taxes in the same hostel that did not appear in my booking app.

The mood of the bar and the hostel. Staff was helpful and pleasant. You could also rent motorbikes in the same hostel. Perfect for solo-travellers.

I stayed in the mixed room and it was very bad: the bed was uncomfortable (like making a whole when you’re lying down), there’s no privacy (it’s a room with 8 beds basically), there are insects around and the bathrooms were not great and never had toilet paper (but apparently you could buy it for 2RM). I heard others rooms were better but mine definitely wasn’t - even being on the cheaper side, it was not worth the money.

The location and friendly staff. I believe they rent motorbikes that are brand new for a fare price as well.

Water heater barely worked. And unfortunately You need it in Cameron Highlands Could be cheaper for what you’re getting. We were charged with additional 10 ringgit per person fee. Other hotel in Cameron Highlands charged us only 3 ringgit for the same reason. Wouldn’t be a problem if it wasn’t little overpriced already. But if You’re a cool kid from rich country you’ll feel great here because You probably pay for “vibe”

Noise... every night, till deep in the night. Our room had a broken window, meaning we heard every sound from outside and the hostel has a bar open till 00:00. Last night the party and talking continued till 04:00. Never again!
