No running water throughout our entire stay. No hot water either. Had to take cold showers in another room & toilets did not flush at all. When checking in, staff wanted to hold our passports & return after they were done check in. Never experienced this so declined & waited the 2 seconds it took to scan the passport. Quite odd, I would not recommend to leave your passport as they may suggest

The floor is not clean enough to walk barefoot.

The hostel requires guests to walk barefoot, but many guests, including the staff, wear their own slippers, making the floor dirty. This causes the feet of barefoot guests to get dirtier the more they walk.

If you’re not a super deep sleeper, I’d recommend going somewhere else. Something will keep you up at night: Wild dogs barking outside, the homeless family staying right next to the “windows” on the ground floor, the staff or guests watching videos on their phones close to the reception (also after midnight), the leaking faucet, the doorbell… the walls are very thin and the private rooms are right next to the reception. The staff was friendly, but not very involved (for example, we only discovered that there is a kitchenette on the first floor by accident after a few days, this would have been good to learn at check in)There was a huge language barrier and there was not a lot of communication, despite attempts to do so. All in all, it’s probably not geared towards western tourists

We stayed in a private two person room. The room was very clean and exactly as in the photos. The AC and hot water worked well and the bed was comfortable. The location is okay - given that it’s semporna and there is all parts of town are rather dirty and grubby, I guess the fact that it was sort of central is what counts. The staff was friendly. There was free water, which was nice. After all, it’s quite cheap, so that’s a plus.

The bed was too hard. The shower was cold. My room was right in front of the entrance, so we could hear some noise from the street and people talking by the reception in the morning.

A very nice place with friendly staff. They organized two trips to the islands for us and were kind enough to drop us to the pier. We would definitely stay again!

Problem with the drains - the bathroom kept flooding. The rooms face onto the reception area so are loud with talking and people using their phones without headphones. The snorkelling tour we booked through them was good, but definitely not the same company advertised on the posters in reception! We also had an issue with an airport taxi that they booked for us. It was over 35 mins late, so in the end we had to book a taxi ourselves. Would just recommend using Grab rather than their drivers!

The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful - they booked our snorkelling tour for us and drove us to the jetty for it. It’s not too far from the jetties for tours. Cute cat in reception! A plus for us, but might not be for everyone…

The perfect place to stay in Semporna, close to all the restaurant and dive centers. Quiet area, friendly staff and very very clean. I´d stay here again if I come back. They even organize tours that are cheaper than in other place and good organized. The dive instructors were great. All in all happy!

Toilet leaked on floor and stank, not a very nice smell at all. Other guests ate our food in the fridge which was food for our 5yr old boy.

1)Very comfort bed - we can immediately fall to sleep and short rest for the entire 3 days! Good recharge ！ 2）Good room - Spacey & clean, hair dryer inside the room, sufficient plug point, sufficient hanging space & hook 3) Excellent bath room -enjoy shower with strong water pressure, fast hot heater, sufficient hanger, toiletries set provided 4) Good facilities - washing machine, space to hang/dry wet clothing, sufficient hanger & click, mini kitchen, freezer, iron set, 5) Lovely balcony - perfect rest & morning exercise 6) Someone help to put in all the clothing during night time so not wet by rain 6) Safety - access card to enter and balcony locked during night time. Ladies - you are safe to stay here 7) Drinking water - both hot & cold is available ! 8) Prefect location - next to Chinese restaurant, walking distance to a supermarket and laundry shop , opposite is a diving & snorkeling shop, 5 minutes walk to jetty.

Great place to stay in Semporna if you are connecting to Mabul. Beautifully clean and lovely cat! Also a small food court a short walk up the road!

Tour prices are very high in comparison with the local market … for example a tour in the hotel (for the island’s) cost 250 ringgit for each person and outside if you search you can find it for 150 ringgit for each person.

The other guests talked and watched their phone loudly in the common room, but they were quiet (except for snoring) by 10 pm (thanks for the sign about quiet hours!). Also there is a cat who tried to use my bag as a scratching post but there is a sign letting guests know at check in, I’m assuming accommodations can be made for allergies.

We stayed here twice! not only did the wonderful English-speaking staff store our luggage safe and sound during our Mabul island trip, but they made our room ready for a very early check in after our boat returned. the location is excellent, a short walk from the pier (our boat drop off) and just down the street from the bus to kota. the hotel is very clean, comfortable beds with nice sheets, great AC and WiFi. Really appreciate water to refill bottles (and reduce single use plastic). shared bath was clean and never crowded. an exceptional budget option!

We loved this place! it’s clean with loads of thoughtful touches. shared baths were always clean and never a wait. the staff is absolutely delightful, and excitedly shared how they have special ramen and water etc for their guests if needed. great location too. WiFi and AC worked great. they even stored luggage for us during our trip to Mabul! an exceptional choice, especially for the money!!
