Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MalaysiaThe front road leading up to the hotel is very steep but we were aware of this in advance and since my husband has experience riding a motorcycle we were able to go up and down the hill on the motorbike so this wasn’t too much of a problem. There is also a back entrance which is less steep and the owner contacted us in advance to provide us with all the information on how to get there.
It was a nice place to stay and was a mix between being surrounded by trees (nature) but still being closed enough to the beach. You can see the sea from the top of the road next to the hotel front entrance. The room and toilet was clean and came with the common facilities you expect in a hotel room (even an iron and hairdryer). Staff were really friendly and helpful too. The breakfast was good with a few varieties (nasi lemak, roti canai, banana cake, fruits, four pieces of Malaysian kuih/pastry) served on a tray and it was enough food to keep you full without having to have lunch. They also have bread available and offer coffee or tea. We saw some monkeys and hornbills around during our stay but the monkeys don’t disturb you and the staff are around to chase them away if they try to come close to steal food at breakfast. The pool wasn’t very inviting but we weren’t planning on using it anyway. It also probably isn’t the best option for older people or anyone who can’t handle stairs as the hotel is built on a hill so it’s basically a lot of steps up and down to get to your room.

GermanyPool is just for the pictures, not very inviting.
Nice rooms with comfortable beds. Good breakfast with Malaysian and Western options. The main street to the accommodation is pretty steep, but there is another easier way coming from the other side.

NetherlandsWe would stayed again in this place
Cozy chalet with nice wooden interior, close to the forest. We could sit on the balcony in the late evening and listen to the nature sounds. We read in the previous comments about the steep hill to the place and we contacted the staff in advance. They advised the back entrance which is quite easy to access from the point where the taxi drops you, even if you dont have backpacks, as us. We loved the breakfast, it is local malaysian and very well made. The breakfast place is also very nice, on top of the hill with view to the sea. Pangkor island is a little bit of a hidden gem, mostly known to the local tourists who travel here during weekends

FranceI think the cleanliness could've been a bit better. The bed hangings were a bit dirty and the room was a bit dusty as well. We also noticed the water of the pool was a bit cloudy from the paint of the pool.
The breakfast choices were modest but complete in mixing both local and western dishes, incorporating both sweet and savoury palates. Likewise, the facilities were modest but complete and comfortable, everything I needed was provided, including a water filter (to fill up your bottles for your adventure), information about nearby activities, a swimming pool surrounded by greenery, and a nice view of the sunset.

MalaysiaChalet built in forest on small hill. Natural environment surrounding, very cozy staying here. Great location as in 2-3minutes walking distance can reach to the beach of Teluk Nipah and very convenient to join island hopping and fishing trip. There are a few convenient stores along the street. There is night market full of street food and ikan bakar (malaysian grill fish), batik and souvenirs, and also duty-free shop. Can walk along the street, eat and shopping at night~

MalaysiaProbably just the pool but I don't mind about it since I'm not planning to use it anyway. The location require some walking, but it's understandable as for them to create the unique stay.
A unique, nice and comfy accomodation, suit with what we are looking for. More of nature with wooden building and well-built. The location is near with mostly attraction that we are looking for. Just that will require some walking (not that much) to the room. Breakfast is simple and tasty. Overall, I love our stay. My suggestion is to just use van taxi, car is a bit hard to reach there, and a lot of attraction is near there. Unless you are looking for extra things, then you can rent a car, otherwise van taxi is good enough, hassle-free trip.
