Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyWe stayed in the north suite and the WiFi was not strong enough to reach there. Also there is a lot of noise from the street so one can only sleep with ear plugs. I guess the other rooms should much better in that regard though.
Very original place and the location is perfect. The hosts were very nice and helpful.

United KingdomThe stairs are steep although there is a landing after the first floor to rest if you have a heavy suitcase. The shower/ toilet room is small but functional . The room is a duplex and the entrance is on the second floor. The staircase down to the living room and shower room only has a handrail half of the way down and it can be tricky on the final section, especially as the wooden floor is polished.. There are no views from the room but this keeps it cool and peaceful.
Good location and an experience of staying in an authentic building full of character in the old town. Most places are easily walkable within 15 to 20 minutes. We had the room at the far back and it was very quiet and peaceful. I am a light sleeper and it was ideal. Jane was nice and welcoming. We would be happy to return but with lighter luggage!! Recommend for a great stay.

United StatesWifi would cut out from time to time, and was not very strong. Would also appreciate some complementary water in the room to avoid asking for it from reception.
Helpful staff and easy check-in; Jane was very accommodating to my late arrival. Very comfortable and quiet. The location is also away from the rest of the noise/activity on Love Lane, so it’s a great place to return to after a night out.

United StatesOur room on the street side was noisy as the owner warned us so avoid that one if possible or just bring earplugs and wear yourself out so you can sleep through whatever noise comes down the street. Wonderful place really.
The owner was very helpful and the property very authentic and beautiful. The location was perfect for exploring Georgetown and resting mid day.

SpainWe enjoyed everything about our stay! Thanks!
We had an amazing stay at Jane's place! The room was huge (2-floor suite), very comfortable, and so clean. The bathroom might be a bit small, but the shower works wonderfully! The location is excellent, just a short walk from so many restaurants, bars/cafés, and shops...as well as everything you want to see in George Town. Jane also recommended an incredible private food/cultural sites tour with her friend Lau. Definitely take it! It's worth the money. We spent 10 hours visiting markets, temples, botanical gardens, and EATING in places we would never have known about.

United StatesNothing!
The hospitality here was amazing. Jane (the owner) provided great information about the area, including where to eat, how to get around, and so on. She set us up on a tour of George Town and the surrounding area (for a cost), and help arrange a ride to our next destination which didn't have public transportation going to it. The breakfasts were tasty!

United KingdomAccess to fresh coffee would be a nice offer. We were offered a food and sight seeing tour on our arrival. We did accept and loved it but the sales pitch was too much for our first night of a long day of travel and felt pressured to respond quickly.
We loved our stay and would return. The room was a good size and beautifully styled and appointed. The food and sightseeing tour with Lau was great!!

Portugalto be perfect : the shower and bath amenities (shampoo and body wash) were ok but could be more upscale and include body milk.
The house itself is a great experience : a two courtyard house with a fluid ground floor and the upstairs bedrooms . I stayed in the bedroom that opens to the two courtyards, spacious room with bathroom and a balcony , and recommend it . Great location, in the center of George Town and a walkable distance of the main interest points. Although central, it sits in a quieter part of Love Lane. Breakfast has two options : local or western (both very good) and Jane was very welcoming to accommodate any requests. Also, Jane proposed a half-day tour with Mr. Lau (great storyteller that follows one’s rhythm of the visit and accommodates timings and changes in the schedule to better fit our interests) for sightseeing and street food tasting and prepared water and a towel to take to the beach.

Absolutely loved this property, it was exactly what we wanted, something quirky and beautiful. Jane is a wonderful host and made us feel so welcome, she also recommended a food tour with Lovely Lau and it turned out to be one of our favourite trips of our 3 week holiday - so much food and wonderful company.
