the rooms we were initially in aircon didn’t work, the second room they put us in, the toilet didn’t flush. eventually moved into chalet, but the linens smelled like damp, there was unfortunately no aircon in the chalet only a fan, no shower only bath.

location was lovely, manager and staff friendly and helpful. there were issues with room but quickly upgraded us to a chalet m without a fuss. Agostinho the waiter helped us with travel plans and gave great advice.

The area is poorly taken care of. The Chalets have a small pool area non operational. The sheets on the bed felt not clean

The hotel is right along the beach. Beautiful views of Maputo city by night. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Nice for a getaway where you don’t have the hustle and bustle of the city life but also close enough to go experience it.

Rooms are too small ‘ Noise place . place needs to be renovated. we checked in on Christmas Day and the place was like crazy with lots of people coming in for the restaurant, If you need privacy that’s not the place to be . kids were playing and screaming midnight 12noon ‘ could not sleep ‘people where making noise at the restaurant, walk in guests they just come with their own Bluetooth music and start playing different music at same time 😒 Nothing much to be exited about at this place ‘ I booked 2 nights at Southern Sun Hotel then 3 nights at Catembe Hotel 😢I regretted ever moving out from Southern Sun ‘ considering the pics I saw on booking.com with what I ended up seeing physically was not the same ☹️ they upgraded my room to a better room . nothing much to do around the area ‘ too boring , no taxies to move you around .

Not at all what we expected with regards to value for money. Should be more than half the price we paid. Very old unkept facilities and broken furniture in rooms, no AC as advertised. Our son got badly bitten with bedbugs. Shower is next to beds and was blocked and water ran all over the floor.

The Hotel needs a renovation . Paint . And all the woodwork needs to be restored. our air-con packed up after the first night. Intense heat the whole evening. Our TV did not work . Small things hut needs to be addressed. But I loved this Hotel. The staff were excellent.

Google maps directed us through a sand path that was not in other GPS/maps platforms. This was not only dangerous but added an extra 30 minutes to our journey

I wanted to have some quiet time near the pool, however there were a few different groups who were there at the same time so it did get a bit crowded, but overall I enjoyed it.

The beachfront of the chalet room was lovely and I enjoyed the sea breeze and the sound of the waves. Breakfast and dinner menu was also good.

So disappointing. It seems like the rooms haven’t been maintained in ages. Starting with the small things—like the bedside plug you have to unplug the TV just to charge your phone. We arrived at 14:30, but our room wasn’t ready. We waited for over two hours while they cleaned, just to be able to settle in. Under the basin was covered with a cloth—possibly hiding damage? The roof was also in terrible shape. The only well-maintained areas seem to be the restaurant, pool, and reception. As for the rooms, they’re in serious need of an upgrade, especially considering the prices charged. Pictures attached below.
