Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThey don’t accept foreign card yet wanted us to pay in dollars. They expected us to have dollars in cash. For starters, we aren’t from the United States. A lot of predicament when we just arrived from a long journey with a small child. They eventually charged us the price of naira at exchange rate to dollars which I felt was a bit unwarranted if others were paying different- just because they knew we came from abroad. The back of the property needs serious renovation and a clean up.
It was close to the airport which was ideal for our airport transfer requirements. The family room was quite big and suited to our needs. Free inclusive airport pick up and drop off. The staff were polite and lovely. They even offered us complimentary wine for staying with them Breakfast was sufficient.

NigeriaThe door to the apartment (without kitchenette) rooms are see-through. This was the 1st time in my life I slept over in a hotel with a see-through door. Management might want to think about changing those. For context, I stayed over from 30th Dec to 2nd Jan, on the 30th the loud pool music didn't stop playing until 11pm, on the 31st, not until 2am and thankfully there was no loud music on the night of the 1st. Those staying over during the weekend might want to factor this in as the pool is smack-dab in the middle of the compound. The airport pick-up was poorly co-ordinated and after waiting for over 90 minutes, I decided that next time I'll pay for an Uber ride (mind you, only pick-up is free). The spa was not up and running, this might change in the future. I found the lunch menu to be too expensive. There were no tea and coffee supplies in the room, mugs and a kettle was available, but that was it. Also the booking.com suggested exchange rate is not the hotel's exchange rate, you will pay their $-N rate at check-in.
Breakfast was sumptuously delicious, my compliments to the chef, restaurant service was professional. All staff I interacted with from the gate-men to the cleaners, porters and receptionists, were polite, well-trained and good-mannered. Most especially the receptionist, Esther. She is a credit to Cata Hotel. The staff at this establishment are A+. Room prices are fair, pick-up from airport is free, and the location is excellent. There are restaurants, supermarkets and pharmacies close by. The bedding was excellent, I slept like a baby. Electricity was regular and the switch to the back-up generator was flawlessly done during power outages.

NigeriaI got a price that's way different from the booking site I came through. I paid 21k more. Which was annoying. They keep saying they charge in dollars and I don't understand why? We are in Nigeria and you are even charging locals with foreign currency. And the worst part was that they used the current rate on black market. It was ridiculous. Though I enjoyed my stay here. I might not come here again. Just because of the price that was inflated. Though the receptionist explained that it was booking.com that didn't update the prices. It forced me to spend much out of the money meant for my birthday celebration.
I like the serenity. I like the pool and the idea that we were not controlled even though the owner was visible on the property. She just stayed on her own. The first apartment was spacious but the second one was not as big as the other one. We were 4 the first day and it was uncomfortable for all of us to sleep on the bed. I woke up with body pains. But the next night , as I was having a one on one discussion with a staff, he informed me that the long sofa in the living room was actually a couch/bed. We had to make use of it and it was alright.i like that all the staffs are friendly especially the ladies.
