We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NigeriaI hate to do this but I really don't have a choice considering that others could be victim. I came into the country and wanted a hotel close to a particular spot because I had a flight heading to Enugu to catch up with the morning of the next day and this hotel was the closest I could get. The rooms were not only poor but to see rats running up and down was a big embarrassment and not only that, there was this white garment church that is wall to wall with the hotel, trust me you can't sleep because of noise. The worst of it was that I forgot a small phone that contained one of my MTN lines in the hotel room, which I got to know later that day after checking out, but I was already in Enugu. I called the hotel but no response. To my greatest chagrin they had used USSD to initiate transaction to my Access bank account by the next day. That day, I discovered I couldn’t initiate transaction using my Access bank account App, but I thought it was the usual network issues, but it kept on telling me that my pin had been disabled. When it became clear to me that money was leaving my account was when I started receiving email debit alert. I called my bank and MTN to block the account and line respectively, but I had lost 50k already. The bank later told me that those guys tried to break into my App but couldn’t and then had to resort to using USSD, and because you can’t transfer much using USSD, that was why I didn’t loss much. I contacted the hotel to raise the concern, the guy that spoke to me, albeit in a very polite way was asking for evidence of the alert, but to avoid exposing myself further I simply told him the name of the person money was credited to. In a safe hotel, your forgotten belongings will be kept safe for you and the hotel will contact you. This is a den of criminals, please avoid them like plague for your own good especially if you don't know Lagos very well

NigeriaI had a disappointing experience during my stay at this hotel. Several issues affected my comfort, including the presence of rats and mosquitoes, which raised concerns about hygiene and pest control. The air conditioning was not functioning properly, and the television was unusable. Additionally, the toilet seat was broken, and the bathroom lacked flowing water, making basic use inconvenient. The Wi-Fi service was inadequate, and the smell of cigarette smoke lingered throughout the corridor, which was unpleasant. There were also broken windows, and the absence of a room telephone made it difficult to communicate with the staff. Speaking of staff, there was no clear way to identify them, which added to the overall disorganization. These issues suggest a need for better maintenance and management. I hope the hotel takes these concerns seriously and implements improvements to enhance the experience for future guests.

NigeriaI arrived the said hotel at about 8pm after calling the hotel at about 10 am same morning to reaffirm my booking. I was however disappointed. No room whatsoever was available for me. I have never been disappointed by Booking.com anyway anytime but for now. I also tried calling the hotel at about 7pm to inform them that I was on my way but no response. It a huge torture for me and my spouse to be stranded in an unknown area as late as 8:30pm.
Nothing to say about it.
