Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe spa was closed for reconstruction. That’s not the property’s fault. Just bad timing. I’ll be back though. Easier access to currency exchange.
Everything. Everyone was so nice and attentive and seemed genuinely interested in making sure I had the best experience possible. This will be my spot every time I visit Lagos.

Isle of ManHotel and facilities is looking dated. Not a cheap hotel and one would expect management and owners to pay attention to this type of detail.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing
The hospitality shown us throughout our stay was amazing. They even made my birthday extra special, with a personalised card, cake and bottle of wine. The location is quite central and made getting around Lagos easy. Breakfast was good. As a foodie, the bar food was great, and as a chilli lover, that Asun was off the chain! Paulinus at the Bar, Emmanuel at reception, Allison and Hameed also at the Bar and Sade at the spa get a mention as they made our stay extra special. We will definitely return to The Wheatbaker on our next visit to Lagos Ps quite impressed with the selection of art by local artists

United KingdomYou have to ask for iron & board, not provided in the room. The pool was under maintenance entire time without any notice on website when booking. Crockery in the room was chipped and cracked, both tea sets. There is no magnifying mirror in the bathroom. Cashpoint machines were working one day and not the rest of my stay. Juices in the juice machines in the restaurant: i was told they were fresh but they tasted like those made from juice tanker concentrates. When i asked if i can have a freshly squeezed one at breakfast, I was told those were freshly squeezed that morning, if they have maybe they were watered down at the ratio of 3:1. Some food was on the oily side, like spicy african eggs, as tasty as they were you had to fish them out leaving a trail of oil to drain off the spon as you served. Few other dishes were oily too. One day i picked up croissant that was literally looking like a prop, i could hold it and maybe hit a nail with it, no idea how it was put out, but as soon as i showed the waiter, he brought me a freshly baked one out of the kitchen. Bars and spaces downstairs seem to be busy overwhelmingly by non-guests, people on laptops, having meetings, team calls etc, which is fine but makes it seem unnecessary busy all the time, so when you stay there you tend to avoid the area. One time i did use the bar downstairs all i wanted is a glass of white wine, what i was offered was cloudy white wine, which neither looked appetising nor tasted, despite waiter trying to convince me it was the type of french wine, my concern was not to consume an overdose of tartaric acid, so i declined. Cosmopolitan i ordered instead was the colour i never expected - strawberry blonde, but i can confirm there was vodka in it, so that went down nicely. All in all its ok and i wanted to add - for Nigeria, but i think with little tweaks and touches and small attention to detail this place is a gem really and despite all the above i will definitely stay there again.
Nice size of the room and bathroom. Excellent power shower. Comfy bed. Coffee/tea equipment in the room. Nice full length mirrow. Excellent breakfast, varierty of different cuisines with plenty of choices, some looked like actual full meals. Proper coffee machine as well as filtered coffee is offered. For a woman travelling alone its a very safe and comfortable place, perfectly located to pretty much anywhere in the city. Security is taken very seriously there, vehicles are scanned, checked in and out, without intimidating guests and those visiting guests. Gym is ok, didnt try the spa. Nice property overall.

United KingdomGreat breakfast selection and the gym is great! The staff are super attentive and accomodating. They were super helpful when our luggage did not arrive on time, providing us with robes and offering to take us shopping for supplies. The food in the hotel is also great, big portions. Nice touches with house keeping, leaving us chocolates on the bed and for Easter. It was lovely!

This hotel is doing something right in a city full of accommodation options. Diverse—local and international delicacies on offer - I overate at the conference I was staying at. The dining staff was always attentive and kind. I loved the opportunity to swim, the gym, and the spotless rooms. I will return for a personal stay—Ms SD is an incredible manager. Sola on Front Desk is so helpful. Stay here - it is well worth it and experience an authentic Nigerian experience with global service levels! So refreshing!
