We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. AustraliaThis was a lovely, quiet clean hotel to rest in after our day of safari. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and communicated well with us about our pick up when our flight was delayed. Bed was comfy. Buffet breakfast had good variety and the coffee was good. We ate one evening at the hotel and were impressed with food options and quality.

BelgiumSuper friendly staff making real effort seeing guests are comfortable during their entire stay. The hotel is located on just 10-15 min walking distance from the touristic center of Sauraha. They offer a convenient and free shuttle services from and to the main touristic bus stops connecting Chitwan to other touristic hubs in Nepal. The hotel offers facilities such as a swimming pool, garden bar, a gym, table tennis and badminton for guests to enjoy. We enjoyed the breakfast service. Price/quality ratio is excellent, we highly recommend this place to discover beautiful Chitwan National Park!

GermanyThe hotel was all that we were looking for after trekking multiple days in the Himalaya. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. The restaurant offered formidable dishes, particularly Nepali and Indian. The staff were always kind and helpful. We were happy that all activities in the NP could be booked directly in the hotel on short notice.

United KingdomAmazing hotel, and totally worth the price - had the loveliest big room with a balcony on one of the top floors, nice design, everything comfy, clean and as advertised. Not many other guests when I was staying over, so felt very private. Staff were great, very attentive but not overbearing. Pretty landscaped grounds. Great breakfast. Airport transfer was also included. Hotel has their own guide who can help with various excursions / lead you on the walks, etc.

AustraliaAn amazing place. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you - from the staff at reception, the staff in the restaurant, the cleaning staff and the pick up and drop off at the airport. We had a fantastic time with Raj our guide - full day jeep safari, river canoe and walk. Raj is very knowledgeable and experienced. I would definitely recommend staying at Hotel Aikawa and hiring Raj as your guide.

AustraliaThe size of the Pillow, not that comfortable. I'd recommend the management team to get a normal sized pillow as well.
First of all, the staff were very friendly. The 24 hours service was exceptional. I was greeted by Mr. Hari Sapkota, such a professional and friendly guy. Food was delicious, especially the buffet breakfast. Talking about the room I got, it was spacious and the garden view was lovely.

NetherlandsFor us it was perfect. Ofcourse a hotel cannot be flawless. It depends on your standards what you experience. We found it a bit funny to find a light weight plastic toiletseat in luxury hotel. But it seems toilet seats are like that in most hotels in Nepal. The bidet shower was not working because of low water pressure. The normal shower worked fine and consist of a rainshower and handshower. Please disregard any minor issue. This hotel is great for a short or long stay and gives you a great experience in Nepal.
The Aikawa staff is key to the **** experience. Reception, cleaning staf, people in the restaurant, drivers and the house naturist. We can say they are warm, attentive, proffesionals, simply fantastic. We hope management can see and values these people who are working long shifts and being very loyal as the key asset. Hotel is modern and well equiped. A wonderfull garden The restaurant is good and has enough different choices. Rooms are clean with nice interiors. Toiletteries are durable and you recieve a lot. We loved the trips and the fact you could make the arrangements in the hotel. Whatever you request they make it happen. When you are out in town and want to return they send someone to pick you up. Communication is always friendly and swift. By Whatsapp you can ask whatever you want and receive a reaction very quickly. We stayed 3 nights. We booked the day jeep tour, canou trip and jungle walk. We saw a lot of wildlife thanks to the fantastic hotel guide and driver.. We enjoyed several meals. The hotel arranged also our transfer back to Kathmandu. Everything was tip top. .

United StatesHonestly, we did not have any bad experiences during our stay!
Everything!!! Please do not pass up this hotel because you will absolutely be missing out on an amazing experience! This was the best place I have ever stayed at, even better than any hotel in the United States! The staff is absolutely amazing and friendly! Prior to our arrival, the hotel staff were in contact with us about what time our bus would arrive. The hotel sent a very nice private vehicle to pick us up from the bus park, and we were welcomed with flowers and fresh watermelon juice as we checked in comfortably in their beautiful lounge area! The hotel has their own services for activities to do in Chitwan and their own personal tour guide. The prices they offered were much better than anything we had found online! You can choose as many or as little activities you want to do. Their personal tour guide, Raj, is the friendliest and most knowledgeable person, you must meet him! He took us on a sunset walk on the day of our arrival for free, and we were lucky to see many animals including a rhino! We chose to participate in a canoe ride, jungle walk, and jeep safari through Chitwan National Park! All of which were so beautiful, fun, and packed with adventure! The facilities at Hotel Aikawa are unbeaten! After a long day of adventure, it was so nice to return to a beautiful room with working A/C, fresh water, complimentary cookies, and a beautiful shower with both a rainfall shower head and detachable shower head! There is a stunning outside area that includes a pool (with a kiddie pool attached), ping pong table, volleyball court, campfire, and outdoor seating area for dinner! We had dinner by the campfire and the food and the vibes were amazing! Speaking of food, breakfast is included and so good with a vast array of options, along with the lunch and dinner menus! Something unique we discovered which adds to the long list of positives is you can get any coffee/tea from their coffee shop for free during breakfast!

AustraliaThis is a luxury hotel at an affordable price. The decor and fixtures and fittings are stylish and modern. The shower was the best! All staff were all so friendly and helpful. We were looked after so well. Milan at the front desk made sure our holiday went smoothly and was very attentive to all our needs. The breakfast was delicious with excellent coffees. We also ate dinner and lunch here and all the food we ate was delicious and reasonably priced too. We did 3 excellent trips with Raj our very knowledgeable safari guide - a walking safari, a canoe trip and a jeep safari. Due to Raj’s knowledge and patience we got to see a wild rhino up close! All the staff made us feel like family and nothing was too much trouble. We were sad to leave. Milan arranged private transport for us to Bhaktapur and it’s a long drive but the driver was very professional and safe. Highly recommend everything about this hotel! It was even an easy 10 min walk to Main St and the sunset viewing platform in town.

ChinaThe toilet flush in the room I stayed in was not very strong and needed time to wait for the water to fill up.
Thanks to Aikawa, I spent a very memorable two days and two nights in Chitwan. Milan made a very pleasant itinerary for us(Expensive but worth it), helped us book flights, and took us to visit Tarau village. The jungle guide Rajendra was a sharp eye, good at spotting wild animals and various birds like radar. It was super fun to meet jackals, elephants, and rhinos. The young driver Subas drove steadily, was polite and very friendly. All the staff in the hotel were very warm and thoughtful, and the food was beyond expectations. Thumbs up to the chef! I like Aikawa very much!

IndiaWe stayed for 2 nights as a couple. Hotel Aikawa is one of the best hotels we have stayed in terms of hospitality and food. Their Manager Milan, and other hotel staff very extremely polite, helpful and efficient in their work. Food is undoubtedly a delight here. You can try many cuisine but their indian and japanese snacks item very perhaps perfect. Safari point where the inner forest safari starts is at a walking distance from the hotel. Pick and drop facility along with any activities required is all well managed by the hotel staff. Milan was extremely helpful to us in booking our activities and was a hassle free experience. Their garden is also nice to have a stroll down the park. I would recommend poeple not to think even twice for booking this hotel in Sauraha.

The team did not leave any stone unturned to make sure that we were well fed and rested, as we were out in the forest, everyday. Raj, the naturalist, is a gem. He made sure that our trips into the forest were bespoke experiences, based on our interests. He was amazing. The food and the chef at Aikawa are extraordinary
