We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

CambodiaNothing - enjoyed it all!
We had a truly wonderful time Barahi jungle lodge. It was hugely relaxing and peaceful, with our beautiful room looking over the river. The beds were so comfortable and the bathroom was lovely too. Food was really delicious every meal. Loved all of it - very fresh and varied. We did two full days of drives and saw extensive wildlife, with a fleeting glimpse of a tiger in the distance. However the large number of rhino, deer, monkeys, some sloth bears, bison and birds mean that it’s a really enchanting experience in beautiful surroundings. Huge thanks to every member of the team for making it such a wonderful experience. There was extreme kindness and generosity shown.

United KingdomBarahi jungle lodge is very spacious and tucked away in the jungle from the hustle and bustle of the city. Perfect place to get a good nights sleep. The staffs were very welcoming and accommodating, service was top tier of all the hotels I’ve been around the world. We did the half day jungle safari with breakfast in the jungle. It was such a fun experience, we saw some rhinoceros and different species of monkeys and birds. We really enjoyed the cultural programs held during the evenings. It was very interactive, you could join the performance in the end. We booked spas, had one of the best massages. Highly recommend aromatherapy massage for relaxation. The hotel is fully eco friendly, most of the things they use are either recyclable or biodegradable. We realised there was a basketball court and a badminton court on the last day. Make sure to use it, ask the staffs at the reception for the badminton racket. The staffs are so friendly and take such good care of their guests. Special thank you for Samjhana(hope I spelled it right) and Tej for helping us around during our stay.

GermanyThere is nothing to improve :)
We had the pleasure to spend two nights at the Barahi jungle lodge on the banks of East Rapti River in Nepal. Already at Bharatpur airport we were welcomed by the lodge‘s pick-up service in person of most amiable Rajesh, who should turn out to be our naturalist guide for the whole stay. The Head-manager himself gave us a warm welcome and introduction into the lodge. We were impressed by the careful sustainability efforts in combination with a five star accomodation with all modern facilities close to the jungle. The staff was most caring, polite and attentive in all functions. The highlights of course were the Jeep Safari, Jungle walk and boat safari in the early morning in the park. Across the shallow Rapti river pick-up point is reached with a boat directly from the lodge. Safar jeeps wating for half or full-day trips. Driver and our guide Rajesh did a terrific job in showing vegetation and all wildlife Chitwan had to offer on that day including a stylish jungle tea/coffee with pastry. Deer, boars, bears, rhinos, monkeys, elefants are just the bigger animals, not speaking of peacocks and many other exotic birds. Safety was always key and we felt always secure and in best hands, either on the car or by foot during jungle walk. Both activities give a very good impression of the park‘s environment. Arriving from the trip with dust and sweat Barahi staff was waiting with refreshment towels and fresh water. A boat trip in the early morning on the calm Rapti river gave wonderful sight on birdlife and bigger animals crossing or bathing in the river. Dinner followed after a presentation of regional cultural dance with excellent cuisine listening to the sounds of the jungle by the pool. Coffee, tea, water was complementary all time with high-speed WiFi. Our bungalow met all expectations with enormous comfort. Wow, this was Nepali hospitality at its best.

United KingdomWe had a couple of issues with one of the rooms at the start of our stay but the staff went out of their way to solve them quickly. In my opinion, it is not about the problem - it’s about how you deal with it. No complaints there.
Wonderful, well-run hotel in a fantastic position on the Rapti river. When we arrived at our suite we could hardly believe our eyes - absolutely stunning. We did a jungle drive which was magical and we saw a rhino with its baby! We also did the sundowner boat trip - highly recommend. It’s also worth walking or cycling around the local area - past fields of mustard and people going about their daily lives. Food was great too and the daily evening entertainment by local tribes was a fun experience.

United StatesVery remote; one small market in town where I was able to get iPhone cord. No ATM nearby so bring money. Safari activities very costly.
This property is beautiful and the surroundings near nature at its finest along the river. Excellent service from all staff, especially Tej, Alina, Krishna, and Nitraman. Beautiful pool and cultural programs during 2 of my 3 nights. Had 2 great massages at spa from Suzada.

Czech RepublicAn excellent and welcoming hotel in the Chitwan National Park area. Excellent hotel restaurant with daily live entertainment, hotel staff exceptionally helpful and always smiling and dedicated. We enjoyed the rich breakfast, vegetables, fruit and if the breakfast was not buffet style, it was possible to order directly with the chef's recommendation. Quiet outdoor seating by the pool. The insulation from the jungle heat was fantastic. Accommodation in cabins with all comfort and cleanliness. Everything down to the last detail. Foods generally very reasonably priced, more expensive alcohol is generally a matter of Nepal. The air conditioning is perfect and necessary, the toilet is clean, daily cleaning, the possibility to make coffee, fast internet as a matter of course. English as a language of communication is a matter of course. The Barahi chain of hotels is very similar and the services are exactly the same, at a high level. There is a swimming pool, a bar and places to rest and sunbathe. A 24/7 restaurant is the norm, security at the entrance always greets you and directs you if you ask for advice. Safari is a chapter unto itself. Breakfast in the jungle is inimitable. We saw a rhino right across the river from the hotel. We will definitely return to the hotel next year and can only recommend it. The price level is excellent, you will be hard pressed to find a better one. A clear choice for us.

CanadaThe spa treatment was not up to standards for a deep tissue treatment but the hotel took care of the issue professionally without my knowledge when I checked out.
The Lodge treated me like a valued guest and were willing to do things to accommodate my needs. They were always smiling and cheerful. The Lodge was across from the National Park so it was easy to do a safari, a bike ride or a boat ride. Thanks Guide Sagar for my 4 guided adventures where I was able to see a rhino with a baby, some gaur, a monitor lizard, lots of birds, elephants and deer. I will be back to find the tiger that we heard in the grass.

GermanyPerfect Gateway. The Staff puts in amazing detail and effort to take care of you. And the Full Day Safari (which everyone here is complaining to be expensive) was completely worth the price. They prepared us amazing breakfast and lunch and sent it with another Jeep so that it is fresh. We were taken on top of an Watchtower and while observing wild Rhinos had a delicious lunch. So obviously you are paying more for it, because it’s a 5* experience. The cultural Programm every evening was also amazing.

CanadaThis one possibly the nicest overall experience we have ever had. We have travelled around the world and the level of service and attention to detail was amazing!! We felt so welcomed and the room and grounds were beautiful. The food was delicious, hats off to the chef!! Also being away from the primary entry to the park we had a great safari experience, even waking up to rhino across the river from our bungalow deck. Thank you so much for a beautiful stay!

United KingdomNothing.
Beautifully styled hotel and amazing location on the river just opposite the national park. Staff attentive and friendly. Food was buffet style and delicious. We did a Canoe ride along the river and walking jungle safari which were both really good but the stand out was our whole day jeep safari which was incredible - saw lots of beautiful wildlife including the elusive bengal tiger which was magical. Our naturalist Tek was brilliant - he blew us away with his knowledge and ability to spot and identify so many different species of animals and birds. I'm sure the prices of the excursions at Barahi are higher than elsewhere but I actually thought our whole day jeep safari was very good value when shared with a few others and given the length of time we spent in the park and the quality of the service.

AustraliaActivities were very expensive and the secluded nature of the property means you don’t have much choice. But as long as the additional money is going towards decent staff wages, then it’s understandable, as there are a lot of staff employed.
The resort is beautiful and thoughtfully put together. The rooms are spacious and clean. The resort and pool overlook the river and edge of the national park, so you can sometimes see animals. It is really peaceful as it is a secluded location and effort has been put into cultivating different varieties of plants/trees on the grounds - you can also see some wildlife in the resort. Food was fantastic and food prices were not unreasonable. Staff were wonderful and incredibly attentive.

United StatesUpon setting our bill we informed the staff that our luggage was to be moved to the reception/departure gate of the complex by 9am when our driver would come to pick us up, and we were assured that this would not be a problem. The gate was probably about 200-300 yards away from our cottage, and pathway, covered with gravel, so suitcases could not roll on it. Twenty minutes past 9 passed, and nobody showed up. We called the reception a couple of times to check about the cart, and were told both times that it was coming. It was important for us to leave on time, and our driver was waiting, so we grabbed our suitcase and headed towards the gate. Only then we were joined by the hotel's staff at half-way, offering hand help with the luggage with the explanation that something happened to the cart. It was a bit too late, a bit too little. Emergencies happen but proper communication is important, and the moving of the luggage by hand shouldn't have been initiated by us.
Barahi Jungle Lodge is a very good hotel, peaceful and comfortable, with a good restaurant and kind staff. I would have rated it five stars, if it wasn't for the problem at our departure.
