Room was a bit rustic and the bathroom was a bit run down. The rooms need some renovation.

Wonderful location slightly outside the noise of town directly on the river in front the national park. Large property with open space to relax and enjoy breakfast while looking for wildlife. Management is very helpful and can book all your jungle adventures for you.

Wifi was a bit slow at times, but ok. Some facilities could have been a bit cleaner but overall well maintained.

Amazing staff who were very helpful from arrival. They helped organise our stay / the activities in Chitwan and were all very lovely. The highlight were the well maintained outside areas by the river which were very peaceful to sit at and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Rooms had good air conditioning.

One thing we did not realise as it is our first time in Nepal is that very few hotels (or anything else) including this one, take Mastercard so make sure you have Visa or cash to pay. There are plenty of ATMs in town where you can get cash but not all of them accepted our cards.

We stayed for 5 nights in April 2023 and had a fantastic time. We were picked up from the Tourist bus stop in Sauraha by the hotel jeep (unexpectedly included using booking.com) and stayed in room 6 which had lovely dual aspect views of the river and the gardens. Both the room and bathroom were nice and clean, the bedroom had good air con and our shower always had hot water. We were also left a couple of complimentary bottles of water each day outside our door. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful throughout our whole stay and really made us feel welcome and looked after. In particular, the young lad called Sarose spoke good English, was very keen to help us with any requests we had and was just generally very friendly and attentive. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the town centre and very peaceful with well maintained gardens full of wildlife and stunning views across the river to the national park. We spent a lot of time sitting in the restaurant area overlooking the river watching wildlife and had good views of gharial, mongoose, deer and loads of birds (we saw a total of 135 bird species on our holiday here.) The restaurant was reasonably priced and had a good selection of food and drink. Our included breakfast was cooked fresh to order, delicious and a good size. One of us is not a fan of spicy food and the chef was very accommodating. We booked to go on a safari one day and the staff made us a takeaway cooked breakfast as we were leaving at 6am and also packaged up some fried rice, cheeseballs and fruit for lunch which kept us going all day. They also froze a couple of bottles of water for us to use as makeshift ice packs as the temperature was around 35C in the heat of the day. The pool was great for cooling off after a day out, was never busy and we loved being able to look over the river while taking a dip. We would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel and hope to come back again one day! (All photos taken in or around hotel)

Waiting staff at the restaurant spoke no English whatsover. That was a real challenge... There are three wifi networks and none of them work from the room. Only one seems to function but you need to go and sit next to reception. Neverthless, this is still a good place to stay for a few days.

Chitwan Riverside Resort in a great location, near all shops and restaurants in Sauraha and right next to the river. It's beautiful to have breakfast or watch the sunset there. Swimming pool is a real bonus. The host, Padma, is also super helpful and very knowledgeable about all things Nepal. We had a very pleasant stay.

Although the complementary breakfast was nice, the evening meal wasn't that good so we went elsewhere on other nights.

The setting next to the river is idyllic. Room was modern, clean and had a lovely view of the forest. The hotel manager was also very friendly and gave good advice about things to do in the area.

The staff was being difficult/unclear the whole time about everything. The food was way to expensive for what you got. And they let you pay more for the tours than you would do at other accomodations..
