Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWifi was a bit challenging simply because I was on a work deadline and some power outage and internet instabilities occurred but staff did their best to assist.
We started our Nepal trip with this lovely KTM central space and would happily come back. The personal service from the restaurant even bringing us morning coffee or a meal to our rooftop room was exceptional as was the casual hanging out in the garden below. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. It is off from the road enough to be quiet and restful. It was cleaned when we requested and fresh towels as needed. The balcony and rooftop views were great and we even glimpsed the sacred Ganesh Himal mountain on one particularly clear morning. The garden is very lovely and power cables for computers are abundant without needing any adapters. Be prepared to go up and down the stairs as is common in all of Nepal. Wifi was a bit patchy as I was trying to finish some work before trekking but management was doing the best they could with some occasional storms knocking out power. Food was good and well accommodated gluten-free needs. Breakfast was great with fresh fruit, eggs and great fried potatoes with veggies for options. It was easy to catch taxis and even rickshaws to the local nearby sites. Great as a budget hotel but met all our needs beyond. We would gladly come back and will upon our return to Kathmandu!

Thailandnothing really
wonderful experiences and memories this hotel has created for me during my last few days in Kathmandu...already missing it as I am sitting in the airport, leaving the country. The location of the hotel is great, few minutes walk to the hustling and bustling Tamel, and return to the smiling and sincere faces and its lush and quiet garden. Hot water at any time!! It was not busy when I stayed there for 4 nights since the country just recently opened for tourists, so did the hotel. Therefore, for me it was understandable that sometimes some guests may have felt a bit unattended due to a shortage of staff. But they made great efforts to serve whenever they could. there will be improvements with regard to the rooms since they were vacant for two years due to covid...it was sad to hear the owner, Mr.Mukhiya, sharing about what happened to the family hotel for the last two years... I was so happy to see more guests in the hotel as I was checking out. Anecdote :), they even let me work on the hotel garden as I enjoy garden work! I hopefully I didn't overdo it ...I'm so thankful! Will definitely stay here on my next trip to Kathmandu and see you guys ...hopefully soon. Thank you, for making me feel like home, in Kathmandu.

United KingdomThe bathroom was a bit 'tired' and needed some work. The shower sprayed in a variety of directions leaving the floor quite wet! But the water was consistently hot, so this wasn't a major problem. WiFi is slow (but does the job) and the TV doesn't work brilliantly, but this is the case in most of Kathmandu and if you are heading to a place like Nepal, you dont want to sit around watching telly anyway.
Very good hotel in a great area of Kathmandu. It's right in old Thamel, but just off a quiet little back street so you get the benefit of being right in the bustle of Thamel, but without the noise at night. It also feels safe and secure with 24 hour staff on the gates. The breakfast was very good and the warmth of the hosts was really good. There is a lovely courtyard with greenery and shade which is great to sit in (and have breakfast in). There are also really nice shared balconies overlooking the courtyard with comfortable seating. It's very easy to arrange transport, guides, trips, etc frrom the hotel as they have a good agent who is always available in the morning to chat to in the courtyard (and no hard sell - he offers genuinely good advice). I would definitely recommend this place to stay ahead of any trek in Nepal.

United KingdomThe room had a leak around the toilet, the windows only had a mosquito net, no glass. The doors only had wooden bolts to secure once inside. And the lock outside, was a padlock. It felt unsafe. Not what you'd expect for the nightly rate charged.
Reception was amazing, as were all the staff we encountered. They were all so welcoming. The food was also good.

LebanonThe hotel is in a quiet alley 10 minutes away (walking) outside the busy area of Thamel... which makes it quiet but if you are a solo female traveller it could feel strange walking back to the hotel late night alone.
The hotel is super charmingly decorated (almost like a mini museum) and located in a quiet street near the centre. It has a garden and common balcony seating area at each floor to relax. The room was super clean with an amazing hot shower. They provide storage options.

IndiaThis was a weird Hotel. They gave us the rooms on the 5th floor and there are no elevators. The room was very small. There was a phone and a tv which was kept disconnected. Of course the phone did not work. The bathroom was unlike anything I have ever seen before in my life. The toilet seat was smaller than the pot, I know it may sound bizarre but that was literally the case. They might have ordered toilet seats that were way smaller than the pot and still decided to go ahead with it, so the toilet seat basically only covered 75% of the pot. This shows how much they care about their property and customers. Also there was no ceiling fan in the room. There was an old wall fan which was so old and made a lot of noise. The mattress on the bed was also very old and uncomfortable to sleep on. They offered to move us to the third floor but said there was no fan or AC in those rooms. This Hotel definitely isn't worth wasting 22 Euros on. This was the worst property we stayed during our 2 week trip in Nepal.
Nothing. Worst hotel ever.

United KingdomRoom wasn't that clean, and the furniture was very tired. Hot water was inconsistent (sometimes I'd get hot water in the morning, sometimes in the evening, no rhyme or reason), and the shower head itself seemed to send water in random directions. After this I've gone to a hostel which is 5x cheaper, but it is cleaner, the furniture is better and the hot water is excellent. As its off-season, I was upgraded to a better room at no cost, but I don't know what was deluxe about it. I was also instantly and repeatedly bothered by a trekking organiser who has an office in the hotel and has a feud with other trekking companies. Bizarre.
Staff were very friendly, location was good, garden area and terraces were nice.

GreeceI was definitely given a lower category room than I had booked. I am NOT at all happy about this :-( . I had booked a Deluxe double room (at a certain price) that came with some view and a terrace (according to the description on booking) and I was given a small room that felt run down, somehow like a student dorm. I guess I was given what appears as the Economy option on the site (that comes at 2/3 of what I had paid). Limited gloomy side view to the adjacent building's windows (on the side of the main building). NO windows, no balcony whatsoever. What was worse, was that there was some sort of smell in the room, like some floor polish chemical product, vernis, or perhaps disinfectant, now I think of it. My allergic asthma hit the ceiling in the middle of the night and I had to open the windows to breathe... No sleep to be had.
Positive: - Cosy inner garden, an oasis in the area, like someone said. Nice feeling to relax there. - Nice hotel staff, very keen to help, with good english. - Good stable wifi network. - Good breakfast: very basic, but well done, just all I needed (I had to catch an early flight, and the receptionist was kind enough to open earlier, to prepare my breakfast). Good coffee too :-). - One may say the place is good value for money, so to speak (or, it would have been if ... - read below.) Basic amenities but decent, and safe. - Clean too, I may say.
