Very nice and welcoming staff, and the place is beautiful ! The staff will be able to give you advice on your trip and to make bookings for activities or trips. A bit cold at night in January but an extra blanket will do. I recommend ! :)

Amazing place, like the best European hotel. Very clean, and very comfortable. Also the food is very good. The Staff is amazing like a family, I had some health problems and immediately they helped me to recover myself. They are very very kindly.

First the atmosphere and the warm welcome (chai tea directly) make you feel home directly. Then the personnel are so smily every time. They arrange me every time to be sure I was enjoying. the room was clean and I went in the dorm which was also clean and quite. I met Krishna and he sell me a trek to chisapani which was also awesome. I know that if I didn’t start my trip to Nepal with that hotel my journey would have been totally different. I’m glad I choose them 😊😊

The room was a good size and very comfortable. Hot shower. All staff very friendly and helpful. The food was freshly prepared, tasty and really good value. An oasis of calm away from the hubbub of Thamel.

On our first stay the shower was cold.

The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. It was lovely to be able to sit in peace and quiet away from the noise and activity of Thamel. The food was excellent.

I stayed at Gurung's for 5 nights. My room was very clean and cozy. The staff was great and we're always willing to help in any way. The patio/restaurant area was very cosy with a filling breakfast served daily. I'd definitely come back. Thank you!

The staff is really friendly and happy to help you with anything. Its the perfect place if you want some peace and quiet in Kathmandu. They offer a small menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner so you can stay in if you like. Dhanyabad Gurung home for the warm welcome!

The shower wasn’t getting hot, so we had to take cold baths.

The staff at Gurung’s home are very pleasant and kind and were super nice with us! The room was good and the bed was also comfortable. besides, the local is walking distance from Thamel and safety, so even in the night, don’t be worry about walking through the streets. Furthermore, Gurung’s brother (Krishna) has a trekking company that we booked Ponn Hill trekking through Annapurna. If you decide to stay there and also book the trekking, ask for Jahmka Pradad guide - the best guide we ever had.

When it comes to friendly staff, Gurung's home is top of the line. The Airline lost our luggage and the personel at Gurung did its best to help us. For a budget hotel, you get great value for your money. In the end we paid peanuts for a 2 day stay and great breakfast. The water in the showers is heated via solar panels. So don't expect a warm shower from the start. But again, you get a warm welcome, a decent bed and good breakfast. What more could you want after a busy day in Kathmandu.
