Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

France- The food is slightly more expensive than in town, - Hotel guests, should have a reduction compared to town visitors ahah, - It would be great if there were mosquito nets on the windows to be able to sleep with the windows open
- A beautiful location right by the river, - The owner and staff are welcoming and helpful, - Plenty activities available, often at a better price than elsewhere, - Be sure to Ask for Bisnu! He’s fantastic, - I did the evening walk, a full-day jeep tour and the full-day walk tour with overnight stay in the tower (I regret not doing the canoeing/walk), overnight stay : highly recommended! - The beds are very comfortable, with towels and mosquito nets provided, - The outdoor shower is great, - I would have stayed longer if I could!

SwitzerlandDespite the great view, if I'd known how far it was down the rickety outdoor stairs and around a few corners to the loo and shower, I'd probably have chosen a different room. I'm older than most guests, and my aging knees and bladder were sometimes somewhat challenged...
I stayed in the room with probably the best view: high up on stilts, with a fantastic view over the river and toward the park that could be enjoyed from bed. Walls and floor were of bamboo, so not mosquito proof, but the bed net served well. The temperature was comfortable (it was March) both night and day, so I didn't need the fan that was provided. My guide was very knowledgeable (and we saw a tiger!!!), and manager Dharmik was quite helpful in realising my photo-safari wishes. The butter chicken was very nice, as were other dishes.

United StatesWhat’s not to like.
We love the Happy Lemon Tree. My husband and I stayed here 4 years ago and brought friends here this past week and are so impressed by what Dharmik has created! It’s a perfect representation of Chitwan—peace, earth, and community. The food is delicious the lemonade is spot-on, the views are spectacular, the outdoor movies and new pool are so fun, and the cottages are handmade from bamboo—simple and clean. I wish we could have stayed longer to relax and experience the whole property and offerings more! We will be back.

ItalyThe first thing that brought me to the Lemon tree lodge was the idea of a sustainable lodge made of Bamboo. So don’t expect fancy hotel rooms and traditional luxury commodities. This is an immersion in the nature, nicely integrated to the surrounding of the National park. You have everything you need, beautiful rooms, super clean toilettes (I loved the outdoor shower), beautiful food, relaxing vibes far from the noisy touristic street and the view by the river is just unbelievably stunning. From sunrise to sunset you breathe Chitwan’s magical atmosphere. Loved the safari both in jeep and on foot. The guides know the area well and they really make sure you have a safe and great experience in the jungle.

The accomodation is wonderful. Right by the river. You can watch the wildlife from the lodge. The recreation area is also great. Yoga classes, ping pongo table, movie nights, on cold nights bonfire, I didn't want to leave and ended up staying 10 days. The guide Bishnu is like one of the best. I booked my trips in the park through the owner.

GermanyWe booked the room with a balcony, expecting the room that is highlighted on the pictures. We had a different room with a lesser view and a tiny balcony you couldn’t sit at comfortably, so maybe make sure when booking that you get the proper one.
Very hippy feeling, very nice location just at the river

GermanyWithout a doubt, this was one of the best and most unique experiences we had during our one-month trip through Nepal. From the moment we arrived, Dharmik (the owner) and his team made us feel so welcome. Dharmik is incredibly kind and attentive, always quick to respond to anything we needed. The rooms were spotless, and the showers were honestly amazing! The bamboo rooms added a special, rustic charm, though they aren’t insulated or soundproof. For us, that wasn’t a problem at all—it was actually part of the experience we were looking for at Happy Lemon Tree. If you’re a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs, but we slept perfectly fine. We also loved the yoga sessions offered on top of the tower at the lodge. Practicing in the peaceful jungle surroundings felt so relaxing and made the stay even more memorable. The entire place has such a laid-back vibe, perfect for soaking up the jungle atmosphere. Sitting by the riverbank with a cold drink, watching animals wander by, was a real highlight for us. The lodge is also in a great location—just a short walk to the main street of Sauraha. Plus, they let us store our bags while we went on a three-day jungle safari, which was super helpful.

The views were amazing, we upgraded to a room with a view and wow! You can see elephants and rhinos crossing the river. Crocodiles are sunbathing on the bank opposite! Great watermelon juice!!

NetherlandsThe room is quite basic and the bed pretty hard. We didn’t mind it, still slept like a baby because of the nature sounds. There are a enough tables and chairs but only two chill beds, could’ve been more in my opinion but as said above, they’re building that at the moment.
Great place to stay, relaxed and chill atmosphere and great view over the national park. Good (especially the chicken burger) is great. Plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the sunset/rise. Owner Dharmik is very helpful. They’re building a yoga and lounge space and swimming pool. Very curious to see how that turns out. Location is great as well, couple minutes walk to the Main Street and still in a quiet area.

AustraliaThey were working on a new menu whilst I was there so the food options were limited. But their new upcoming menu looks great.
Excellent location and accommodation and hangout space. The national park is right across the river so you can see deer, peacocks, crocs just chilling near the river banks. Great value. Very comfortable. Great staff. Super friendly resident dog 😄

TaiwanThe host is nice, but I personally can’t stand No hot water in the bathroom for two nights straight. I can understand that they have to rebuild the lodge after the severe flood last month.. but once you host customers, it means you are ready for that… Couldn’t communicate with the receptionist.
the lodge is cozy and cute! The location is wonderful for the river view!

United KingdomI absolutely don't mind this, as I'm used to more rural living, but be mindful of the fact that you are basically living in a bamboo hut in the jungle - if you have food, keep it in a solid locked box if in your room, or ask the host to put it somewhere safe for you over night so the rats and mice don't disturb you while you sleep trying to steal your snacks 🐭
We just had the most amazing time at Happy Lemon Tree! The location is truly as good as it gets, with the beautiful, organic bamboo structures you're living in just making it feel so much more authentic and wild than in a concrete building. The host was a dream, so familiar and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The beds were comfy (but we like a reletively firm mattress) The food is delicious, as are the mocktails The open air shower was a dream, so idyllic and hot water (or cold which we needed on 38° days) The views were just to die for. Sunset is prime time. We saw elephants, a rhino and a number of crocs without even having to leave the lodge. The safari we booked through Darmik was excellent too. Truly cannot recommend this place more.
