Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Definitely the right place to stay in Pokhara! A quiet hostel, in a good location, frequented by many people all year round. The included breakfast prepared by Puskar is truly exceptional. Different every day is really good! The right way to start the day! thank you!

Slightly long walk into the city, but totally worth it.
This hostel is absolutely great. Lovely area for meeting other travellers, comfy beds, warm shower and good WiFi. The staff will help you with everything, from arranging a trek to booking a taxi. Every day they serve a different, lovely breakfast. Met some lifelong friends here! It's at the side of the tourist street, which makes it quiet. I had a private room but still all the facilities to meet other people.

Arranged to have breakfast earlier than is offered (early coach) but went down on the day, wasn’t available yet and the chef a bit curt in telling me

My ensuite shower didn't work for a couple of days (but they let me use a different shower in the meantime).
Really amazing atmosphere and social areas to meet other travelers. The breakfast is tasty. The staff are friendly, and give honest advice about tour / bus / travel itineraries and costs.

Second time a stayed I had a private room in the B block and the water wasn’t hot.
Had a really good stay, especially during NYE. It is super easy to meet people, the owner is so kind and helpful, the common area is good with nice seats and good wifi. Surprised it was also included with Breakfast, which is every day different. Rooms were clean (I had a private room). Would def recommend this hostel. I would give a 10/10 if they would have a own restaurant with meals.

just a small suggestion if they can put a pull up bar in the open area for quick workouts that will be great
it has people from different cultures, they can arrange outdoor trips at reasonable cost. staff is helpful and humble. they booked air ticket for me.

The breakfast was delicious, and the bed was comfortable! Hostel staff also booked a bus for me and other activities are also available to book at the hostel. I also attended a free yoga session one morning at the hostel which was also a bonus.

If they could provide some facilities like shared kitchen or at least offer some items like tea and coffee, that would be perfect!
One of the most famous hostels in Pokhara, Backpackers Hostel is located close to the lake and touristic area. The guy at the check-in was really helpful. Rooms are really big with their own bathroom. Hot shower is nice and everything is clean. They have a good breakfast. I stayed one night there and after trekking, I came back again.

Beds in the dorm were a bit crammed together, room door wouldn’t close properly
It was clean. Nice bar area at the back and they were showing the World Cup games. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
