Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA beautiful building. Really beautiful. It has a style and a soul. If you like traditional Nepalese buildings, and everybody does, you will love this one. Outstanding staff. High personal culture, great attire, naturally smiling, always very helpful. Excellent food that warrants a separate paragraph. Fresh and tasty. Served in a relaxing, quiet restaurant. It was so good that we never went for any street food even though street food was one of the things "we had to do". Perfect location. A short walk to Durbar Square with the Asan Bazar halfway through. You have all the Kathmandu noise and beauty just around the corner, and it's so quiet inside (our room window faced the inner courtyard). Some people may not like the smell of old wooden wardrobes in the rooms. I've found it charming.

IndiaNothing! We had a wonderful stay and will certainly choose to come back here when we are in Kathmandu again.
It is a gorgeous large hotel with a generous garden. The architecture is vintage Nepali traditional style even though it is a modern construction. The room was large and cozy. They gave us a heater because it was almost 10 deg C at nights. The staff is friendly and helpful and very cooperative. The in house dining is incredibly tasty and charmingly served. Don't miss eating the thali there. You will come back for it again and again! We were also offered a free 1.5 hour heritage walk facility and free morning yoga on the terrace during our stay! The hotel is a short walk from the main Thamel market road as well as the Garden of Dreams.

United KingdomNothing really.
The staff were all lovely both the restaurant and reception. The food was good as well and they even kindly packed a breakfast for us as our flight out or Kathmandu left early. The building is amazing….although built in ? 1997 there is a lot of lovely traditional newari woodwork in the building. As well although it is in busy Thamel it is in a quiet side street.

AustraliaA home away from home, Kantipur was one of the most welcoming places I have ever stayed. The kindness, sincerity aesthetic and dedication to eco-sustainability was unmatched, it started my experience in Nepal on the best start - not to mention the breakfast options and the enthusiasm to ensure I always had enough coffee. It was a delight to come back to my room after spending the evening out, to find an electric blanket turned on and hot water bottles in my bed. Helped with any kind of home sickness that was happening. I'll be back again.

United KingdomIt would have been better if the hotel had an actual temple history or something like that, not just purpose built like so. It is kind of expected, but there is no comfort in this hotel. The hotel says they are very eco-friendly, so they ask us to use everything sparingly, don't ask for extra towels, try not to ask for a heater, etc. It just felt like an excuse for saving money for them, but hey, in the end they provided us with whatever we asked for, and we didn't have to brow-beat them into submission for it either. The breakfast staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the food was okay, but like I said, it was okay. In Nepal, during the 5 days staying there, we did not manage to have a wow meal, unfortunately.
It's an experience staying here, which is why I booked it in the first place. It fulfilled my expectation in that regards. We took some really nice pictures here. The staff is friendly and helpful.

ChinaWe had dinner at the hotel and it took a very long while, perhaps because it was low season and there weren't many people. It would have been ok if the waiting service made it more amenable by engaging a bit more or even offering some beer simple snacks to make the time more passable. Also, the portions we quite small and this didn't add to the overall experience. Other than this, nothing everything else was fine.
The hotel architecture is impressive, the atmosphere magical. Breakfast was a treat, not exuberant but with good variety, also breakfast area makes it even more desirable. Staff was extremely helpful with all sorts of things, including printing out important documents for us free of charge. Excellent people and place.

AustraliaThe rooms don't come with kettles already, you have to ask for them, which isn't a really big problem but i didn't realise that so we didn't have a kettle the whole time. Otherwise it was great value for money
