We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. United StatesNagarkot Trekkers Inn offered a peaceful getaway from my stay in Kathmandu. Kishor was a communicative host who ensured that I had everything that I needed. My room was simple but satisfactory and the home cooked meals at night were absolutely delicious. It was lovely to get to know him and his way of life. Thank you, Kishor! Many blessings to you.

Serene and rural life in the cliffside of Nargakot. Facilities including WiFi, hot shower, clean toilet, organic food and comfortable beds made the place perfect. The quality of care from the family made me feel safe and at home. Would highly recommend to other solo travellers looking to immerse themselves in local culture.

United KingdomThe room was a little dusty and the surfaces could do with a clean. The whole time I was there there was a really big push from the owner to leave a good review. I understand reviews are important but it was brought up so frequently it made me feel a bit uncomfortable and like that everything he was doing was for the review which overshadowed the authentic homestay feeling. There was also a time where we were invited for tea at the shop after coming back from a walk. We were charged for the tea. I’m always happy to pay and it’s not much (only 20 rupees) however I think if you invite someone whose a guest it should be made clearer that it’s not included in the homestay cost just to avoid any confusion. (Or if you’re a guest maybe best just to double check!)
For a budget option in Nagakot Trekkers Inn is perfect. It’s about a 20-30 min walk from the main town but the stunning view more than makes up for it. The local breakfast and dinner were very nice and grown in the owners garden. They have also recently installed a western toilet and a shower with warm water. It does get cold at night but there is a small heater in the room and also extra blankets. The heater isn’t super strong so maybe something to consider if you are visiting in the winter time.

United KingdomThank you for a lovely stay. Trekkers Inn is a very relaxing place to be. Such good value for money. It has everything included: wifi, hot shower, new western style toilet, warm blankets and very friendly owners who make you feel like part of the family straight away. The dinner is delicious too using all ingredients from the garden and breakfast was filling and tasty. The view from the window is beautiful and you can go up to the rooftop to see the sunrise and it’s a great place to do yoga too. Dai also lent me a mat so I could do yoga up there. You can also get to the view tower easily. Couldn’t recommend highly enough if you’re looking for a peaceful, local experience.

United KingdomNothing. Everything was good.
Been all over Nepal and this was our favourite Homestay. Thanks to Kishore and his family. Our highlights were: amazing scenic location looking toward the Himalayas, all home cooked meals (organically grown at the property) and great atmosphere in the evening, everyone around a campfire. Great WiFi and hot water all day. Highly recommend for all travellers

OmanLeaving this wonderful place is so heavy. I wish I could stay longer.
It was just a random decision to book a stay in Nagarkot for my last few days of stay in Nepal. Luckily, I found this homestay. The owner is very responsive to all of the queries i had and instructed me how to get to their location from Kathmandu. So it is roughly around 1.5hrs from Bakhtapur to the last bus stop in Nagarkot. From there, the owner is already waiting for me to pick me up on his motorbike. We them stopped by their local store to have some tea and met his lovely wife. The homestay is located around 10mins away from the main road by motorbike and in this alone, I already had a wonderful view of the himalayas. I stayed in a room with 1single bed and 1double bed with a nice sunrise view from my window. It is a shared toilet and bath which is decent and clean. Hot shower is also available. Surprisingly very good wifi connection everywhere within the property. The family has their own garden where they grow their own organic crops. Imagine how will be your meals during your stay. I super love the meals they prepared for me. Mr. KISHOR also arranges trekking tours, day trips, day tours, nature activities. He will give you all the details you need and give you the best prices possible. I ended up roaming around the vicinity with him on his motorbike and it was another great experience for me. We visited some key places such as the suspension bridge, Buddha Peace Park, Nagarkot View Point at sunset, and some other spots for taking great photos. To sum it up, 5⭐️ location, room, food, ambiance, view, activities, and most especially, top-notch hospitality from the family. They made sure that I had a great stay with them not just as a Guest, but as a Family as well. All the best NAGARKOT TREKKERS INN HOMESTAY! See you again soonest!😍

Sunrise panoramic view from the room, dinner, breakfast is provided, great farm stay experience to understand the local culture, highly recommended. It is not easy to sustain a fabulous rating from more than 200 guests. 30 minutes walk from the bus park, the owner is running the grocery shop on the last 10 minutes walk down hill to homestay

United KingdomLovely locatlon outside the village, perfect for sunrise and sunset. Experienced family business, with nice home-grown food, and simple, authentic facilliies. It provides a fascinating look at Nepali daily life. Echoing others' advice: the homestay is approached off main road down a steep rocky track. Fine for well-clad frekkers, arriving in daylight! Otherwise host might offer to meet you at his roadside shop, with his motorbike. If arriving by taxi, you may have to budget an extra 100 - 200 rupees for driver to take you down the track. Well worth it to stay in that location.

ItalyThe place was incredible. You can see the sunrise from the window of your room and still better from the little rooftop they have in the garden. There is hot water and WiFi and the owners are super kind and friendly. They cooked dinner and breakfast for me, very nice! :) The house is the most peaceful place I’ve ever seen and it’s also not so far from the view point where you see the sunset.

Hong KongWe used an InDrive to get there from Kathmandu in a heavy rain storm. The taxi didn’t want to go all the way down to the house as his car was electric and he was worried about getting out. The host walked all the way up to meet us anyway and showed us where to go. He mentioned that a lot of taxis would come there. So just be mindful.
The host Kishor is really lovely and helpful. WiFi is excellent considering it’s on a hill at 1800m elevation. Dinners were delicious. The room was clean (and had extra blankets) and had a great view of the mountains. Kishor made us feel at home and shared a lot about his way of life. He helped us organise bikes and taxis. We enjoyed relaxing at the Trekkers Inn, snuggling a few baby goats and enjoying our surroundings. I would highly recommend the Trekkers Inn if you’re looking for a local and down to earth experience with a a great host.

GermanySuch a beautiful place surrounded by flowers and vegetable gardens and with a fantastic view. I felt so warmly welcomed by Kishor and his wife. They are making really yummy food with ingredients from their garden and can help out with any kind of question. On the first day he even made me a spontaneous lunch cause I was so hungry. On the first morning we got up early to see the sunrise and it was really worth it! Kishor also arranged an Reiki session for me at his friends place who is also a professional yoga teacher. After all I stayed longer because I really felt home there and enjoyed every minute I spent at Trekkers Inn. Won’t forget this place!
