United KingdomToo many times I have been promised hot water for shower, only to find out at the crack of dawn that there isn't. Perhaps it's my own fault for not insisting at time of check in, that they physically demonstrate how the system works. Despite that and the hard mattress (though it wasn't too uncomfortable) wasn't a bad place to recharge before heading into India.

Sri LankaA/C and lighting often didn’t work due to power cuts - no back up supply. Not a deluxe room with single bed - there was a double AND a single - Deluxe? Absolutely not! No Garden View - just horrible wasteland. TV Not working aerial not even connected. WiFi: painfully slow and drops out repeatedly Damp coming through the bathroom wall so paint flaking. Toilet pan is too close to the cistern, so toilet lid did not prop up - I secured it temporarily with chewing gum!
There was no breakfast. On one occasion, I was offered toast but with no butter or spread, let alone a preserve.
