This hostel is in a really good area surrounded by a variety of shops that are perfect for tourists and travellers ranging from authentic bags and cloths to trekking equipment. There are lots of fantastic restaurants as well. The staff are very kind, welcoming and helpful. The top level is a lovely change of pace from the streets to as it is calm and refreshing in the heat with cover from the sun, fresh air and often a nice breeze. The rooms and facilities are very comfy and clean, it’s the full package. Next time I stay in Kathmandu I can’t see myself staying anywhere else.

The bedsheets were not clean enough for me. They need a deep wash or substitution.

Namaste. To all at Rest Up Kathmandu Hostel. A beautiful, relaxing,respectful, safe, warm, and friendly feeling among all the interesting staff. The water is hot, cleaning standard very high. Everything is so Shanti and kind. The guests have all been interesting with a community feel. To say I highly recommend it is not enough. I am loving my experience at this hostel. The location perfect. Come and tell your interesting adventure travel experiences to people, fellow travellers, who are genuinely interested, supportive and get buzzed up with it. Or just take yourself into contemplation, meditation or read your phone, the WiFi is super strong. I look forward to spending more time here. Approach Kathmandu with a Shanti Shanti. Slowly frame of mind Plenty of adventures to be had. Enjoy.

Everything! It is a very cozy hostel, in the heart of Thamel, it is economical, it is super cute, the room was super comfortable and warm at night, they have a super nice rooftop with a view of the city, they also have a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner (very delicious). the wifi works perfectly (on each floor there is a different router so you can always be with a good connection. I was also able to leave some of my things there during my trekking days. I especially want to thank Karan for his excellent attention, from the day I arrive at 11.30pm to the day I left at 5.30am. Always super nice and attending to the customers. I recommend staying here 100%

The staff at reception is simply wonderful. Specially Mr Karan. He was the most professional, resolutive, well informed, non invasive, smiley abd efficient worker I have met so far after 50 consecutive days travelling. He knows as well everything about trekkings and other excursions. Wonderful.

i lived in the upper bunk in the shared room in 2F. A 90cm space was kept from the ceiling to my bed, with a beam crossed 90deg over my bed. if i sit up in the bed, the beam might punch my face directly. (2 beds had the same problem in the room i stayed.)

Can't write anything here. If you know where you are, or where you go, you must accept the fact, these places has some weeknesses, to compere in a hostel in London for example. But they do their best, and always helpfull. I gess that is the point.

As a newbie in Nepal I booked this hostel a pretty much in advance, what came out wasn't necessarily. They helped me to find a good guide, for pretty much on budget, also were so communicative. Gopi Khrisna (who seems the boss to me) always answered in 24 hours, even though my questions sometimes were a bit silly. I do higly recommend this hostel if you are a traveller on budget, their prices won't rip you off. The bar also has very friendly prices. Location is perfect too. It is not in the heart of Thamel, but not farer than 5 min. walk. If I go back this will be the first place which availibilty I will check.

The space looks exactly like in the photos... worth the money... Very safe and very clean... They give you lockers if you have something important to keep safe... I forgot to lock the safe and left all precious items in the locker. They made sure to keep it safe until i returned... Amazing staff...
