Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Everything. I loved Rokpa so much, everything was perfect especially their staff members. I love the garden that you can write your journal or do your work there. The guesthouse is literally two minutes from the stupa and the Shechen Monastery, terrific location!

United StatesThe KINDEST staff of anywhere I’ve stayed. Genuinely nice, helpful, and just all around good humans. The rooms are spacious and the beds are nice. There’s a gorgeous garden and restaurant too. The hotel is close to the stupa but it’s so quiet, especially at night. Try and get a heritage room if you can. They’re in the new wing and some rooms have balconies with a view of the stupa. I would leave my window open at night and just gaze at the view.

Wonderful breakfast, beautiful view to the stupa, very large apartment with a kitchen where we could cook. Lots of fresh vegetables sold by the locals close to the hotel. Beautiful bath with large bathtub and 24h hot water.

United KingdomWe had a fan room over an AC room which wasn’t an issue but would maybe look to book an AC room next time, more for humidity than anything. Not a complaint at all but would advise other travellers to ask for an AC room if it’s available.
Wonderfully helpful staff, really clean and absolutely massive room so plenty of space to spread out compared to other rooms we had stayed in the city. The garden is lovely and the location is fantastic so close to the Boudanath Stupa. There is a lovely view from the roof top too (ask a staff member to show you how to access it). Would most definitely stay again, thanks to all the team at Rokpa!

United StatesRokpa is an incredible guesthouse. Perfectly located right near the Boudha stupa but away from the crowds. It’s a quiet complex with beautiful gardens, A nice sanctuary to study and meditate. I had a single room with a queen sized bed. The bed was very comfortable! I know how hard the beds can get in Asia and I am a sucker for a softer bed. Breakfast is freshly made and super tasty, you can have it in their cute café or alfresco. But the stand out feature of this guesthouse is definitely the staff. I’m not even going to call anyone out by name because everyone was so helpful, incredibly kind, and always there with a smile. This whole business is a win-win, not only are you helping out their children’s home by staying here, you are doing yourself a favor because this place is utterly magical to stay in. This place has good vibes all around

United KingdomKind staff. Quiet location in busy area. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Toilets super clean. Great breakfasts and can eat in courtyard which is very lovely and serene Only downside worth mentioning is that the shower was broken when we arrived and we told the staff everyday. It was not sorted out for the 3 days we were there and they must have known it was broken before we arrived. We did a fix with hairbands to hold and connect the shower to the wall attachment which was better.

AustriaIt was just wrong booking. You get towels dirty, and when you ask clean ones you are getting same. Very much old fashioned. Bathroom was really bad. You can meet there all the possible insects. Only hand soup is available. Windows from 19 century. Pillows absolut not comfortable to use. No air conditioner is available. You must keep windows open and for that you get up at 4/5 am because pf the noise. Staff works extremely slow. Do not do money exchange in hotel. And another very bad point is you go for a breakfast and there is a tv showing Rokpa kids house and bad they leave. In that moment I got the feeling to leave my food for them and go. Once you leave hotel next begging hands will surround you.
