Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomVery cosy place to stay, simple and clean room which was just what I needed. The best part is how helpful and kind the host is, she will tea and breakfast to feed you up. It’s family owned and the host is so warming, if you need help with buses, suggestions on where to go in Kathmandu - she’ll let you know. It’s a lovely spot, a little far out but a taxi bike ride to the city is easy, or a 10/15 min walk to Patan main square.

Sanu House is the best choice if you want to spend simple Nepal lifestyle. The room was clean and comfortable. The house faces Ringroad but wasn't noisy at night.

New ZealandSarita is a lovely host and makes you feel very welcome. She helps you with transport and cooks a lovely breakfast. The accomodation is some ways from the central tourist area, but you wouldn’t find a stay like this in Thamel.

NetherlandsSanu’s House is a wonderful, heartwarming experience. For every traveler that enjoys a warm welcome and authenticity, Sanu’s House is the place to stay. Sanu is a kind soul, and personally I think she is the ideal host. She provided me with beautiful stories about Patan’s culture, shared her wisdom, and gave great advice about sightseeing. Also you can feel the love that she puts in the food and tea. Taking care of guests and being a kind person seems to be in her nature. Her presence actually creates the experience. Her stories also made that I could understand Patan’s, Newari’s and Nepalese culture better. This felt valuable. It’s an enriching experience. The location of Sanu’s House is ideal to visit Patan. Everything is on walking distance, and very close to the most authentic places. You can start up your day at the guest house with fresh breakfast, and if you like you can also eat other meals here. I would definitely recommend staying at this heartwarming guest house.

ColombiaI liked everything about this place
It felt like home. Sarita is the kindest person and a great host. She will make you feel welcomed. She constantly offers tea and roti if available, and her food is just delicious and healthy! The rooms are clean and the house is quiet and perfect to have a good night of rest. Sarita will tell you nice stories about Patan and make you great company while you enjoy your breakfast or dinner. The place is just 13 minutes walking from Durbar Square. Sarita will make sure also that you have everything you need in your room to make your stay comfortable (extra blanket if cold, extra pillow, plug extension).

United KingdomThis place was incredible! Sarita and her family were so welcoming to us. As soon as we arrived Sarita was offering tea and snacks to make sure we were looked after!! The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was really special, lovely local food and unexpected specialities on offer which was a real treat. A short walk only 10-15 mins to the main centre of Patan so good location. A really authentic homestay experience, will definitely return if visiting Patan!
