Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesOnly problem for me was my room hotpot to make tea did not work but a community one was available in the common kitchen on 4th floor.
My room (21) was so nicely laid out and cozy. The bed, including a warmer-big plus, was fabulous. Great hot shower in a nice bathroom. The room has a view of the square and was perfect for people watching. The upper level terraces overlooking the square/pond/stupa was a very nice outdoor space for breakfast or anytime. The breakfasts are outstanding and fill you up proper for a great day of sightseeing. The host and hostess are more than congenial, willing to help with directions, getting transportation and general advice. A really lovely family.

United StatesA picturesque, warm-hearted guesthouse with a wonderful location and kind service. Set on Pimbahal Pond, it’s both quaint and full of activity — old and new. Giving a lovely illustration of what makes Nepal so unique. The host was most kind and thoughtful. He helped make the place special. My sister had injured her leg before arriving, and the staff were incredibly helpful and flexible in taking care of her - moving her to a room on a lower floor and delivering food. A guesthouse I’d recommend to anyone who wants to get a sense for what makes Nepal, Nepal

GermanyWe stayed five nights at Tajaa Pha in Patan and this was a highlight of our trip to Nepal. The hotel is situated right in Patan and makes for a great location to start day trips to around the area - we didn't have any troubles finding taxis right outside the gates of Patan / Lalitpur. We stayed in a larger room, which was great to spread out all of our hiking gear and organize. Our room was streetside, so we heard the street sounds - bring earplugs if you're sensitive to sounds while sleeping. Shailendra was fantastic and helped us out a lot. Our flight was canceled, so he helped us modify our original booking. Breakfast was also great here - everything was freshly prepared and I was always looking forward to the changes over the days.

AustraliaGorgeous terrace and beautiful view overlooking Krishna Temple and Stupa. Run by gorgeous who gave so much advice and helped us. Breakfast was delicious, made vegan for us. Surprisingly quiet at night, but lot of action and things going on below. Great spot to do walks around the old city and the mountain views were all around. We did yoga from the highest terrace, which was almost the highest point. Highly recommend staying here.

BangladeshThe neighbourhood can get quiet very early. If you’re returning late everything nearby will likely be closed.
The neighbourhood is very charming, and the accommodation has a cozy vibe. It’s a peaceful spot, but walking distance to the Patan Durbar Square. There’s a lot of good food within walking distance and the breakfast at the hotel is also great. The owner Shailendra is very knowledgeable and up for a good conversation.

United KingdomThere's no lift, so it can be pretty tiring getting up to the top floors. Help was provided for luggage though.
This a family-run hotel. Guest are given personal attention so it's ideal for the solo traveller needing help with taxis and bus reservations. The hotel overlooks Pimbahal pokari - a pond next to a Buddhist stupa. It's a lovely view, with plenty of activity to observe. Breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace and guests can use the kitchen for other meals.

United StatesOverall very happy with my stay and would recommend to those considering staying here! Be aware that laundry services are available but may return in a couple of days.
I stayed for 4 weeks from Jan-Feb while working in Patan Hospital. Shailendra was a fabulous host! Tajaa Pha felt like a home away from home. Shailendra even helped to arrange transportation for traveling I did within the Kathmandu Valley. The central location in Pimbahal is very convenient and close to both cultural sites like Patan Durbar Square and many restaurant options. Hot water was plentiful. Electric blankets available for chilly evenings. I highly recommend staying here!

United StatesThe breakfast was amazing. I was served a different a different breakfast for each of my five mornings at Tajaa Pha, each one being tasty and unique. It was a two-course breakfast with coffee and yoghurt/granola/fruit followed by a main course, eggs, bread and a variety of Nepali dishes. I especially liked the aloo parathas. Great coffee, too!

IndiaThere's no lift.
This is a wonderful heritage house in Patan run by a family, a short walk from the Darbar square and in a lively but quiet old quarter of the town. It wasn't the kind of hotel we expected, but the totally personalized service won us over. The rooms were wonderful (a little overcrowded) but had everything: fridge, air conditioning, kettle, wifi, clean linen. But most of all it had the family who make and serve the breakfast, and help you in all kinds of ways.
