Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyGreat room with exquisite decorations and a great view over the lovely garden and into the distance. The garden was very beautiful, with lots of flowers and chairs to sit everywhere. The staff was exceptionally attentive. The hotel roof is a perfect spot to watch the sunrise over the Himalaya. Breakfast was great.

United KingdomThe only slight issue we had was there was no minibar or tv in the room. But the WiFi was really good and the hotel staff were happy to bring water and drinks to our room whenever we needed it.
The staff were fantastic and helpful. They were always very polite and helpful. From the day we went to the day we returned they were courteous, always asking if we needed something or smiling at us. The hotel gave us a bigger room and for room service even came and took our orders at the door. During breakfast as well they were so helpful and waited on us hand over foot. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a good hotel, with great food, good views and a fantastic staff.

IndiaReally nothing that I had any issues with...but some people may have a problem with the following: The road to Nagarkot is pretty rough at the moment but not surprising given the impact of covid on tourism. Walking paths are not properly marked, so you need directions...but we enjoyed some short walks with the help of a map given by the receptionist. The bed firmer than I like - not really a problem for us...but would be if you can't handle a firm bed.
The views and the gorgeous garden spaces are definitely major highlights of this place even in May when views of the distant snow capped peaks are very rare (I caught a few glimpses of a few peaks at sunrise & sunset which was exciting) but the views are still beautiful. Considering we are just coming out of covid, and it's the off season, it wasn't very surprising that we were the only guests in this large and very well appointed hotel. What was surprising was how good the service and food was considering we were the only guests..and we ate all meals at the hotel for the two day visit. The staff were all friendly and very helpful and are maintaining the property and the service very well... The hotel has beautiful common areas both outdoor and indoors and I would love to visit again with a family group...but it's also lovely for a couple. We did a few walks nearby. They have quite a big library you can borrow books from plus a few board games on offer. I also noted a few environmentally friendly features. The linen was all clean and crisp and the room well appointed.

United Arab EmiratesThis is not a reflection on the Fort Resort, but after a few days we were a bit restless. There are not many hiking trails nor many cultural sights to visit. If there were more to do, we would have been happy to stay longer. There were occasional power cuts for the area - a small inconvenience and again not a reflection on the property. It was always on a night, though.
Beautiful and spacious garden - great for a short walk or to find a quiet place to sit and relax. Lots of birds around the property, and it was very quiet throughout the day and night. Staff very friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have a good stay - they were offering complimentary coffee and tea whenever we were sitting around. Breakfast had a decent choice and seconds for both food and drink were available upon asking without extra charge. It was a great place to relax for a few days. Everything was very clean, and the shower was always hot with lots of water. There was no TV in the room, which we were happy about - less noise and a more peaceful environment.

NetherlandsWe booked two nights, but left after the first. Bed was hard, too hard, terribly hard. We didn’t sleep at all, it’s just a plank you’re on. Shower is below average. It’s hot, but there is not enough water volume to make it comfortable.
Location and views are amazing, staff is very friendly and helpful. Spacious and clean room.

NetherlandsIt is quite hard to get to the hotel by public transport. The bus leaves you in the village and you need to walk for about 20 minutes up hill. Since I was pregnant that was not really working. Luckily the owner of a nearby hotel took me up by car. To get back to Kathmandu, it was quite hard and also quite expensive to get back. It is recommended to go back in the afternoon when full small busses of guests arrive so that you can take one of the busses back. The hotel is a rural area. In our case that had a downside in our holiday house, having a quite big mouse walking around our room at night. That can happen but it disturbed our night. It is one of the most expensive hotels in the area and the most expensive one during our stay and we really hoped for a bit more luxury.
This hotel is an escape from busy places such as Kathmandu and Bhaktapur. I am sure that on good days the views can be amazing. During our stay there were a lot of bushfires in Nepal so the views were very limited. The garden is very nice and spacious and it is comfortable to be on the terras outside. The hotel is spacious and nice to walk around the hotel. The building is beautiful, a bit dated. Ofcourse an old hotel and such a huge garden need quite some maintenance work. From the houses you have good privacy and you feel like in a garden. The shower is great and hot. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast was good some of the main courses are good some not so much. We did a nice little hike (1.5 hour) from the hotel with good views over the country side.

United KingdomHotel manager was often dismissive, he kept looking at his phone whilst taking to me. We suffered from food poisoning, but the hotel staff helped us a lot with that. The smog made the view of the Himalayas no-existent. If you want a view, I would advise not to go in April, when the burning months are in full swing and there hasn't been any rain. The whole country was under thick smog so quite unavoidable unfortunately.
The grounds, flower arrangements and buildings were all beautiful. The facilities were quiet and we could always find a beautiful spot to seat and enjoy the surroundings.
