Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe Mountain House is a great place to stay for a relaxing trip to Pokhara. All the facilities are very clean and the garden and common areas are beautifully maintained. Our hosts were also very friendly and welcoming. They have an affiliated trekking guide business, with experienced staff, which is very useful for trekkers. We have recommended them to other friends looking to stay here!

United Arab EmiratesI stayed at The Mountain House in Pokhara, affiliated with The Nepal Treks, and it felt like a home away from home. The place had such a warm vibe, and the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. I will definitely recommend it to my friends because it is not only a great place to stay in, but also offers great advice on what to do and how to manage all details related to your stay in Pokhara.

GermanyI had such lovely stay at the mountain house, which explains why I keep coming back. The family that runs the guesthouse is so kind and helpful. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, and the whole premise is well maintained. Location is great as well, as the guesthouse is located in the center but also tucked away in a not so busy side street. Moreover, for those who are interested in trekking, you can book with the hosts directly for a great trekking experience. Looking forward to my next stay already!

We were recommended this hotel by Masumi, whom we met at a hotel in Kathmandu. We’re so happy we chose to stay here in Pokhara! The location is perfect—overlooking the mountains with a lovely garden—yet within walking distance to Lakeside, restaurants, and shops. Our room was clean and spacious. Nabin and his family were incredibly kind, making us feel at home. After returning from our 4-day Poon Hill trek, we decided to go to Lumbini at the last minute. Nabin helped us contact the bus company to cancel our original ticket and arranged a new one for Lumbini. He also runs a licensed trekking company, and we saw many international trekkers staying here. I’d love to come back and stay again—highly recommended for anyone visiting Pokhara!

NepalWas all great
The staff were amazing and could not do enough to help us plan our trips and help us with any question. Nabin and his family who run the hotel were so welcoming and friendly and the shared space was comfy and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and we had the most wonderful stay. Nabin helped us to organise a 3 day trek with a fantastic guide also. Would highly recommend and we hope to be back!

GreeceI’ve been in Nepal, Pokhara many times, but in the end I settled on this hotel. Advantages are the following: First of all you stay in the heart of Pokhara, lakeside close to everything, but the same time in a quiet area, far from night life noise. Second, and it’s very important thing is that this hotel has very hot water 24/7. Most of the time rooms air conditioning equipped. Third, last but not least, - the family runs the business is extremely sweet and helpful, any kind of assistance, advise and support will be provided immediately, as well they provide and trekking services you can organise upon arrival so you don’t need to seek around just ask Nabin - he is a specialist, owner and licensed guide, and of cause I’ve in a daily basis a fantastic breakfast carefully prepared with warms by the senior mistress. Conclusions. I highly recommend The Mountain House for stay in Pokhara, and one of reason because living here is much cheaper than the average in the city of Pokhara.
