Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BangladeshVery nice boutique hotel with a beautiful tropical garden in the centre courtyard. Service was very good. One issue needs attention. The towels are of poor quality and needs urgent replacement.

MalaysiaThe hotel itself is beautiful set-up in the middle of the bustling Thamel area. The staff were friendly and always willing to assist. The room was really clean, the bed was comfortable, bathroom with really good shower and sufficient amenities. The breakfast was really good as well. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel

IndiaHotel thrive is an excellent place to spend a few days of your vacay in Nepal. It’s strategically located 2 min walking distance from Thamel, the buzzing town of Kathmandu. This keeps you close to all the fun and maintains a sweet distance from the drama and noises. Hotel staff is so polite and knowledgeable, from the front desk Sudarshan to the house keeping staff, all works there with a passion. Breakfast is excellent, kudos to the chef at the attached restaurant, mostly continental and south Asian combo everyday. They have a multigym and a beautiful terrace with a clear view of Swayambhu temple, where i do my yoga every morning. The restaurant closes early by 9pm, but there are 2 good places to eat outside if needed. And the local taxi stand is right outside, so no need to wait for a taxi. Over all a good place to stay if you are in Kathmandu

AustraliaHad the Ayurveda massage and there was nothing specially or genuinely Ayurveda included. It was just another massage. I had to leave early morning for a flight and breakfast wasn't open until 7:00. A packed croissant and fruit would have been appreciated. Perhaps I should have asked. Driving from the airport through the narrow, seedy streets of the old city I was a bit shocked about the location, but then we drove into Hotel Thrive and it was wonderful. So not bad at all!!
Excellent location, very convenient to Durbar Square, former Palace, Peace Garden, Monkey Temple and Thamel. I walked everywhere. The courtyard garden was an oasis and I had trees and birds outside my window. Staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Chiya Nepali tea was excellent and the spicy pumpkin soup was outstanding.

I have been travelling regularly to Kathmandu for more than 20 years and this is by far the best hotel I have every stayed !! The hotel is well designed , is set back from the street so it’s super quiet , has a beautiful courtyard garden , great size room with a comfy bed and a shower that works ! All the staff were friendly and attentive. I can not fault this property in any way, and it’s a little bit out of the craziness of Thamel , which I like . I will be back 🙏

United KingdomI can't think of anything.
I cannot speak too highly of this hotel. We loved that right outside was a large busy area of shops selling a range of goods at non-tourist prices (as long as you bartered!) Inside the hotel the courtyard is really like a tropical oasis – trees and plants everywhere, a soothing waterfall, very calm. We couldn’t hear the hustle and bustle from the streets. The facilities and presentation of the hotel were similar to a 4* hotel in England. They provided a good supply of bottled water. There was an amazing choice in the buffet style breakfast of hot and cold foods for all tastes. The restaurant in the evening had a good choice, very reasonably priced. The general cleanliness in the room and the hotel was exceptional. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange a couple of trips. There is an ATM right outside the hotel too.

Everything. Special thank you to my waiter Sunil. He was prompt, professional and made excellent recommendations for foods to eat every night. This hotel was probably the best hotel I've stayed at for 4 nights anywhere in the world let alone South Asia.

United KingdomNoisy guests in the courtyard, which doubled as a smoking area. Some kind of notice asking guests to be respectful of others by keeping noise to a minimum might have helped, but some folk would probably take no notice anyway! The sound was sometimes clearly audible in our room which faced the courtyard. When other guests were quiet, the courtyard was a lovely place to sit, with the birds and the waterfall providing a welcome contrast to the noise and bustle of Thamel just outside the gates.
The tropical courtyard was a real pleasure. The restaurant served a good variety of food and even cooked something to order for us, which we appreciated. Staff were attentive, polite and helpful, always eager to serve the customer. Definitely recommended, and good value for the tourist wanting a bit of luxury at an affordable price.

PolandWe traveled as a group of four friends and had an incredible stay at Thrive Hotel! The location is perfect—within walking distance of Thamel. The staff and manager are extremely helpful and friendly; everyone greets you with a smile and makes you feel special. We enjoyed the hotel restaurant, bar, and spa services. Additionally, the hotel assisted us in organizing trips, tickets, and taxis at preferential rates, including private drivers, tourist guides, and mountain flights. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone—10/10! True masters of hospitality. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
