Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomFirst up hotel location is excellent, with a rooftop overlooking Durbar Square. Everyone we met who worked there was delightful – unfailingly helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious. The room was very comfortable and well thought out (good, hot shower; and tea & coffee facilities in the room).

United StatesThe hotel feels a little neglected -- there are buckets and rags in the hallways, staff in the lobby on their cell phones. The hotel advertises a rooftop cafe or at least a "restaurant," but there isn't one. Be sure to inquire about whether the AC/heat works. Mine didn't.
Very kind and helpful staff, exceptional location, large room. The breakfast was very nice, good coffee.

GermanyThe room was quite cold. But the AC has a heater function which helped a lot.
Lovely Hotel in Bhaktapur. Very nice and spacious room. Good hot shower and nice bathroom. Amazing view from the rooftop terrace. The breakfast was very good as well (Tea, Coffe, Eggs, Toast, Fruit, Curd, Granola). Overall a great stay. Just a side note: you need to pay an entry fee to enter Bhaktapur 15 USD per Person.

CanadaI wish they would open the bar on the roof (right now you need to order from the reception, 4 stories below). The interior garden is not welcoming.

New ZealandAmazing location right on the square. With a rooftop terrace where you can overlook the whole square. The staff were genuinely lovely. They went out of their way to ensure our comfort and cater for our vegan diet. Thank you for all your help and making our stay in Bhaktapur so enjoyable.

ItalyThe room was a bit dark and cleanliness can be improved. It can be noisy at night due to the many dogs in town but good ear plugs can solve the issue.
Charming hotel right next to Durbar Square with amazing terrace overlooking the main square. The room was nice and comfortable, nice breakfast but what really made the difference was the lovely and helpful staff. Rajesh especially has been extremely kind and assisted us when we felt sick! He is a plus and deserves 5 stars!

MaltaHotel was closed early in the morning, and we had to wait for staff to open up the doors, for us to go and explore the square etc. This was a bit nerve wrecking given that we wanted to experience the square waking up early in the morning. Other than this everything was amazing.
Location is amazing. You can spend extra time in the square, if tired you go and rest etc.

United StatesBhaktapur is an undiscovered jewel in Kathmandu Valley. Hotel Traditional is ideally located as close to Bhaktapur's lovely Durbar Square as one can get. In sharp contract to chaotic Thamel in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur is quiet and peaceful. One gets the feeling of what traditional Nepal is really like in this charming place. And Hotel Traditional is a nice place from which to enjoy it.

United KingdomThe room was too dark - needs more lighting. Not enough electric sockets. The wardrobe and drawers needed a good cleaning. The shower unit was just ok - lots of water got on the floor. It could get quite noisy outside at times, barking dogs, roosters, people in the square. The courtyard garden could be lovely if it was tidied up. This is small stuff though - it's great value for money and would stay again.
Super location right on Durbar Square within easy walking distance of sites. Great rooftop terrace overlooking the square. Decent breakfast. Spacious room, modestly furnished, with comfy bed. Effective, quiet AC unit. Couldn't hear any noise from other rooms. Pleasant staff - Rajesh very helpful with good English.
