Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaWe had a lovely stay at Hotel Yambu! The staff are excellent, kind and very helpful. We needed to see a dr and a staff member walked with us to get to the hospital which we were so grateful for as we aren’t familiar with the area. They went above and beyond and were happy to assist with anything we needed. The hotel is in a great location, only a short walk to Thamel shopping/restaurant area. There is an ATM close by and we were able to order taxis to the hotel with ease. Breakfast is also available at the hotel and is yummy. We really loved our stay and will be back!

AustraliaHotel Yambu is a very comfortable hotel in the centre of Thamel, close to ATMs , good restaurants, trekking stores and pretty much everything you need is close by. The owner Raj is an excellent host and organised our flight to Lukla, our phone sm cards and banking necessities. We couldn’t be happier with our stay there and will return after our trek to EBC. Do yourself a favour and stay at this excellent hotel,

MalaysiaThe hotel offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff, a comfortable room, and enjoyable food. My stay was pleasant overall, though I did encounter a minor issue with the bathroom as the water drained slowly in the bathtub. However, this did not take away from the overall positive experience.

NetherlandsThis was our first hotel in Nepal, and it was amazing. They arranged a pick up from the airport, so after our flight it was a smooth travel to their hotel. Once there we were welcomed with smiles and such kindness. In the morning there was a nice breakfast. No question was too much for them, information on Kathmandu, hikes, buses..you name it they could help. The rooms were also great and you could have a nice warm shower. There was a kettle in the room and if you did not feel like taking the stairs, there is an elevator to your service 😉 The morning we took our 7 am bus they even made us breakfast before serving hours and they made sure we caught the bus from the right place. The whole experience of our first stay made that on our multiple stops in Kathmandu we came back to Yambu, because it was a home away from home. Thanks to everybody who made our stays so great!

IrelandI had an excellent stay at Hotel Yambu. It was my first time in Nepal so I didn’t know what to expect, but from start to finish everything was great. The communication with Raj before I arrived was clear and efficient, the free airport pickup made the journey so much easier, and then when I arrived at the hotel I was greeted by absolutely lovely staff, Aakash and Roshan. Everyone at Hotel Yambu is so helpful and friendly, they make it feel like a home. The rooms are clean, basic but comfortable, the shower pressure is amazing and the hot water works well. The air conditioning works for hot and cold temperatures. There’s free breakfast too. And Raj was very helpful in booking me a comfortable bus to Pokhara, and allowed me to leave most of my luggage in their storage room while I travel. The location is perfect, located in Thamel but not super loud or busy. It was within walking distance of lots of shops, restaurants, and some of the big sightseeing spots. Thanks for a lovely stay, I will definitely be back ☺️ I can highly recommend Hotel Yambu!

ThailandThere was nothing to dislike.
A home away from home. This place is a prime example of where one can still receive 5 star hospitality without staying in a 5 star hotel. I was provided free pickup from the airport and to my next hotel. Breakfast was simple and yet delicious. And you can eat as much as you like. Food is served fresh from the kitchen. Every hotel staff are so friendly. Even the manager was checking on each guest during breakfast to ensure that they were satisfied with their meals and stay.

NetherlandsIt was a bit cold in the room at the beginning of March. Some construction going on on the 6th floor but we stayed at the first so it didn't bother us.
We got a big room with three beds, good wifi, very good breakfast, free coffee and tea all day available. Good location close to Thamel but not at a busy street. Nice roof top terrace Best was the free pick-up at the airport included in the room price
