Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandSome cool people there and usually some free food/snacks in the kitchen. The staff were accommodating and friendly and you can get a small dorm for the price of a 12-bed dorm which is closer to town (at a separate hostel). That said, it's a little bit far from the action. About a 15 minute walk to chch cbd and you need to walk about 35 minutes if you plan on getting groceries from paknsave. But still a good experience overall.

CanadaThe second time I stayed I stayed in an 8 bed room with bunk beds which was less comfortable, but very typical for hostels.
The first time I stayed here I stayed in a three bed female room and it was very comfortable and quiet. None of the beds were bunks which really cut down on noise and added comfort. There was enough room in the room to sort your stuff, which was super useful. The communal area was well-used and a nice way to meet other travelers.

AustraliaThe shower was a large step up (40+ cm) with no handrail support. It was totally unsuitable for anyone with mobility challenges- and it felt really unsafe stepping down out of it. The feltonmix mixer could only be reached by standing on tip toes outside the unit... but I realise that any amendment or shower reno would be a major expense, and this was a budget motel.
We had a different room this time than last week. It was smaller but still very adequate - with a sofa, bed, small table and 2 chairs plus a deck for taking the chairs onto if we'd been there in the sunny evening. The kitchen had a hot plate and microwave, a small fridge, and jug. The bench space was adequate for a small meal.prep. A separate toilet off the tiny bathroom was well placed. Sliding cavity doors made each space Socrates if you wanted. The bed was comfortable and curtains/blinds blocked light well.

AustraliaHigh step up over bath edge into the shower - not suitable for anyone with mobility issues - was the main issue. No dessert bowls- but I'm sure I could have asked if I'd wanted them.
Great cooking facilities - frypan, pots, as well as microwave. Well away from traffic noise. Quiet units and lots of parking. Good sized rooms. West facing deck. Very warm. Good sized fridge with icebox for food storage. Table and chairs in kitchen. Separate kitchen to bedroom.

Hong KongThin pillow. Ceiling in bathrooms are bit mouldy. Kitchen counters are cluttered with grocery bags by long term stayers due to lack of shelf space. Other guests were noisy until 2am on Friday so I was bit difficult to fall asleep. There's no room key and a keypad password given for room access. Wonder if the combination has ever been changed last 10 years. Window lock was not working neither so I had to bring all valuables with me.
I stayed at the single room for 3 nights. Bedroom is very spacious. Bed is comfy. Furniture is old but functional. Location is 30min walk to city but it is easily accessible by frequent bus service. 3 showers & 3 toilets to share I had no trouble. Showers was clean with good hot water pressure. All I need is a private and affordable place to sleep so I am okay with what I got with the price.

United KingdomSharing, I tried to upgrade my booking to a single room but this didn't happen. Bus is the only means of traveling and apparently you should have a card for this. I would expect this to be arranged by the accommodation side especially if I am not from New Zealand. My travel arrangements were always compromised.
Place was affordable
