Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The kitchenette shared by all guests was not sufficiently equipped to guarantee public hygiene. There was no dish detergent, no paper towel, no napkins/ tissue box, but only two pieces of dish cloth. We used one cloth to dry the dishes and one cloth to clean the countertop, but who knows what the next guest would use them for?
I booked this property because it was very close to the pick up point of aqua taxi to Abel Tasman National Park. The owner responded quickly to our questions ever since I made the booking. He impressed us as a friendly and funny person when we met. The room was simple but adequate and clean. We also loved the fruits the owner provided.

Our group shared with other guests. We would have preferred exclusive use, or a private common area.
Location - at the end of our bike ride. Cleanliness, one bathroom per bedroom. We could securely store our bikes in the garage.

The breakfast area was a little tight on the morning that all of the people who were staying at the B&B came for breakfast all at the same time, but that's the only thing I can think of as a minor downside, and that wouldn't stop me from staying here again in the future.
Nice comfortable room provided with easy parking in a large driveway. It was just a quick 10 minute walk to the restaurants, the beach, and the boats to Abel Tasman National Park.

The set up of the 4 rooms made us feel like we were all sharing a house together. We turned in early and heard everyone come in talking as they settled in. We left early and I’m sure they all heard us as we fixed our breakfast right outside their rooms.
Our host Pauley was very nice and helpful.

at least 4 rooms have separate private bathrooms across the corridor, so be prepared for that, if ensuite bathrooms are unavailable. Breakfasts are great, but you help yourself and space for eating slightly cramped in the property
Kaiteriteri has limited accommodation due to it being on the edge of the national park. This B&B was clean and well run, in an excellent location 5 mins from town centre on edge of the river lagoon. The host Paul is very helpful, providing great accommodation and sorting any niggles out.

Clean and comfortable room. Beach, shops and resturants an easy walk away. Paul provided helpful suggestions for eating and activities. There is a possibility of getting a separate toilet/shower room to the bedroom where you need to cut across the shared kitchen&dining area, this space can get a bit crowded in the morning.

No area to relax inside other than your room or the hallway/ breakfast area (which are the same area). Breakfast can be a bit cramped if others are having their breakfast at the same time.
Comfy bed, great host, great views from the pool. Also really close to the Vegan/ vegetarian restaurant (The Views), which sidewalk had a track where you can see glow worms after dusk.
