Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments

- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I noticed the cupboards in the bathroom needed looking at. They look like they were being renovated? The clock in the kitchen needs a new battery.
It was convenient. We were just there for the night, so it really was just a bed to sleep in.

The pillows they were all rock hard with no choice to mix it up on the type, we both woke with sore ears, no light in the shower, and main light in the bathroom was not very bright. We had room 7 and from 5am we had what sounded like elephants coming up and down the stairs or above us (this is likely just a location of the room next to the outside stairs)
So the host was lovely and super friendly and allowed us to keep the car parked there until around 11am after we checked out, the dated room had everything you would need and real milk, it was clean, lovely and warm when we arrived, and this place is all about location location location- had an indoor pool we never tried it.

Overall ok but had a few issues.. pillows were too soft no support.. got woken up alot as you could hear all the cars starting as beds were close to the sliding door... bathroom had no hooks to put clean clothes... And cobwebs on the ceiling so if some of those issues could be fixed rating would be alot higher

The place can use a 'do up', it was cold and the bathroom didn't have a heater. The main bedroom had an extra bed that we didn't need - so it was a bit cramped for space. Tiles in the kitchen had cracks and dents - didnt make it look nice, also there were cobwebs in some corners!
The location was awesome and so was the view. It was right opposite the #LoveTapuo Sign - so we just crossed the road for a walk and took lots of photos. Shops were just around the corner - so it was super convenient. We had clear days, so we could see Mount Ruapehu clearly. Staff was great and helpful - no issues there - lots of fresh towel was a big plus. The kitchen had good utensils.

Perfect location as it is near everything. Walking distance to restaurants, playground, and everything. Warm welcome by the man in the reception. Recommended to families wanting to stay halfway to Ruapehu and Hamilton so it is not a very long drive.

It was dated and worn, but clean.
Its position - very central, across from the lake. Parking. The bed was comfortable. The host put us in a second floor room with a view of the lake. It had a pool which some other guests used.

Power points, inconveniently, halfway up the walls Bathroom wasn't vented. Broken drawer in the bathroom Laundry dryer blows heat etc. onto the outside rest area. Uncomfortable for whoever is in the flow

There is not much bench space for dishes, and there are no hooks in the bathroom to hang stuff when you're taking a shower, which is a pain. Also I couldn't open the cupboard to store my clothes as the bed was too close.
Location was perfect, don't need a car, town is right behind the motel. No street noise and the road outside is easy to cross as the main road doesn't run straight past. We had 2 queen and 2 single beds all together in the one large family room, that might not suit everone but worked really well for our group, we could keep chatting from our beds. The shower had great pressure and heat.
