Had a beautiful weekend spent at the Avalon Resort. I recommend this beautiful tranquil private spot to anyone looking to stay. My kids enjoyed the space to play, the ponds and of course the pool and spa. Thanks heaps Mike, we had a fish at Opito bay and on the wharves and my kids enjoyed themselves. Awesome spot

The Charlet offers everything you can dream of. It‘s very cosy and the deck is really wonderful. The team is lovely. They even took me to the bus stop early in the morning.

Beautiful setting and cabin .Signs to access difficult to find and access road needs upgrading but well worth it when you finally arrive. A few issues with maintenance reported and Manager very apologetic and arranged repair. Loved scenery and spa and close to town.

Lovely spacious apartment. The kitchen was large with virtually everything you could want. There was a good size fridge freezer too. The communal decking area was a great space to relax and we also had our own private decking area on the other side of the apartment. We didn't use the pool, spa or sauna but they all looked very nice. The bed is one of the most comfortable we have slept in during our 10 week trip and we had a great night's sleep both nights. The curtains are proper black out curtains, there was no light coming in before we opened them. The grounds are superb, it was lovely and quiet and felt very safe. There was a bit of noise from the neighbouring room but not too bad. We wouldn't hesitate to come back if we are ever back in New Zealand.

There was NOTHING that we did not like about our stay.

Check in was excellent. We were shown where all the facilities were, including the BBQ area should we wish to cook our dinner. The location is so close to Kerikeri but far enough away from the main road that you felt you were in a sanctuary. As this was a last-minute decision, we didn't make use of the spa or pool, but on our next visit we will be sure to bring our swimming attire! The room was so clean and presented beautifully, together with the bonus of our own patio facing the bush, where we enjoyed our dinner before retiring into the most comfortable bed and enjoying a wonderful night of slumber. I cannot recommend this resort highly enough, definitely a hidden gem of which I am extremely happy to have found. We are looking forward to our next stay!!

Beautiful surrounds, wouldn't know you were so close to the shops, owners very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Accommodation was spotless, well equipped and worth every cent. Would highly recommend staying here. We will certainly be back.

Our room was joining on to the office so we could hear everything. The blind in the kitchen wouldn't go down so people walking past on the deck were looking straight in when we were in the kitchen.

It would be great if there were screens on all the doors and windows to stop the mosquito onslaught at night without having to close all the windows.
