Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandI waited an hour for my luggage - I had to fetch it after numerous calls to the call centre. Was actually disrespected by the woman flippant comments to me while explained what had happened. My room phone was broken and there was no room service menu anywhere. the room is dated and work to be honest.
I liked the breakfast. The dinner buffet is over priced. I like the swimming pool.

New ZealandWe couldn’t check in when we wanted to which led to us having to get ready for our event in the hot spa area with others around. We also could not relax in our room before leaving and had to spend our time in the lobby
The facilities were really great and the room was super tidy with everything we needed

CanadaDining room was hugely expensive - $129 for dinner buffet. We passed and ate in bar with very limited menu. Nearby restaurants were permanently closed due to COVID. That scene seemed much worse in Auckland than in other places.
Room was available early!

New Zealand-Stale smell in the room. -Suspect guest guests not staying at the hotel were using the facilities. -Too many children at the adult pool. -Staff seemed a bit overwhelmed or disorganized. -Reception is tiny for the size of the hotel. Wouldn't go back for the price we paid.
King room had a decent layout. Nicely finished

New ZealandWe booked thru booking.com on 30 Jan for our 1 night stay on Mar 4th. We received confirmation twice leading up to the stay from booking.com. We had booked a room with 2 Queen beds for both myself, husband & 7 yr old daughter for $345. On arrival at the hotel our booking was not in the system. Their reservations department had not transferred it thru. The hotel was quite booked out. The young girl on check-in was inexperienced with dealing with such an issue. She spoke very softly and we could barely hear what she was saying. she offered us a room with 2 x single beds. I asked to see the duty manager she went out the back to find him and returned to inform us that he was too busy. I insisted that as a customer we had the right to speak to him so he could sort this issue. She left to inform him once again and he returned to speak with me. He informed us that he could only offer me a room with 2 x KS beds and a rollaway, he said it was equivalent to what we had already booked. I informed him that if I had of wanted a single bed I would have stayed in a back packers! I was determined to ensure that he could offer me a room with another bed config alternative. Then he miraculously pulled out of the system a room with a king bed and a rollway. The room was fine and the bed was comfy. The staff were not that well equipped to deal with the situation and if the Duty Manager was keen to assist his staff member and speak to us as a customer he would of made the effort to come to the front desk straight away. Also they have an issue in the hotel with swipe cards not working properly! There were other guests at reception having to get their cards re-swiped, we met guests in the lifts with the same issue and both cards that we were given only 1 of them worked. This had also happened on a previous stay there as well. The hotel has a great pool area and it was the only reason we stayed there so my daughter could swim. Next time we will be booking elsewhere.
The bed was super comfy, the pool is great for our daughter.

New ZealandUpon check-in, there was only one staff member available to assist the long queue of guests. It took over 40 minutes to complete the check-in process. There were two other staff members available, but they did not offer to help with the long queue. This was frustrating, especially after a long day of traveling. While the room was comfortable, it was located just above the gym, which was very noisy. We could feel the vibrations and hear the noise from the treadmill and other exercise machines, which woke us up at 5 am everyday. I think they should have a good sound proofing to give comfort to the guest staying near to the gym. Even after multiple reminders, the lotion pump was only replaced on the second reminder. This was a disappointing experience, given the hotel's five-star rating. To add to my dissatisfaction, there was an error in my booking, and when the hotel called to inform me on my mobile, they did not leave a voice message. When I called back, no one answered. This error would have been caught if the staff provided me with the booking details during checkin. She was overwhelmed but informing guests about these details are critical and should not be skipped. Because of this error, on our last night, when we were already asleep, the hotel staff called to ask if we were extending our stay, which disrupted our sleep. According to the night manager he called because they were instructed by booking.com to do so. I can't imagine how staff in such a five-star hotel could have no common sense and just blindly follow orders from a person far away and not think whether they would be disturbing their guests. How can a 5 star hotel staff not not train properly train in this kind of situation? Worse, I had to personally come down to the reception to talk to them as no one was answering the reception and concierge phones after multiple tries. After a rough night, I was woken up again by the vibration of the treadmill.

The bell luggage service gentleman that serviced room 21260 on Saturday February 11 2023 at ~13:45 was a phenomenal individual. He was just a punctual, kind, generous, and good person. He deserves commendation and represented my favorite part of the entire stay. Location was great. Breakfast was just ok given for the cost.

New ZealandThe view was partly blocked by the new tower, so if you want a view of Auckland ask for a tower room. The bathroom was not well cleaned, and I had to clean the floor of some marks and a lot of hair when we arrived. We arrived at 3.30pm and had to wait an hour for our room to be ready (which meant we had to rush for the start time of our show in the evening). Probably due to staffing shortages NZ-wide.
We had a double queen room, and the beds were comfy. Good blackout curtains, and very quiet. Spacious bedroom with all the necessities provided. Great buffet breakfast with lots of choice in the restaurant. The staff were great, friendly and helpful.
