It has no restaurant so you need to drive into Franz Josef or use the curtesy car from a recommended restaurant.

My only recommendation for improvement would be the installation of a smart tv, so that we could have cast movies, etc.

The property was spacious and well appointed. The young couple looking after the property were extremely welcoming and helpful.

the surrounding were so beautiful and everything was very clean and very peaceful. very beautiful place to stay. love the two chairs outside that you can sit at and admire the view. sucks in the little pond we’re so lovely too. loved that the room was warm when we arrived . fireplace in rooms is a nice touch .

remote location and felt more like a motel than hotel. No one on site throughout the night , felt exposed as no gate to entrance .

Unfortunately the weather wasn't very co-operative, raining quite a bit. Can't plan everything!

Our room was upgraded, giving us a spa and more space. Very clean. Quiet and peaceful setting. Lots of lovely eating places to choose from in town.

It was not a cheap hotel room, so having to pay for breakfast on top of the room rate was annoying, especially as the breakfast was not very good.

no waste bin near tea making facility only in the bathroom. no table and chairs to sit out when sunny outside the room. advices to put sign out to clean room before 10am. sign was put out at 8.15am but was not cleaned. I had to go over and see manager to replace towels and fresh milk because cleaning staff had finished for the day. we did nip back late morning to pick some stuff up and cleaning staff was cleaning next room to ours so can’t understand how they missed our room.

out of town laundry was not free and £200 a night for a basic hotel room without laundry was a joke. continental breakfast ‘starts’ at $20 …. ridiculous. This place has serious write ups & it is just a basic motel that’s clean.

I suspect like a lot of other places we have stayed at the hotel is rather short staffed. This meant that there were very limited dining options. Pizza margarita or pizza salami for supper only. Continental breakfast only. More like a motel than hotel.

If only we could have stayed longer. Literally this is an oasis of tranquility after visiting the Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers. A beautiful, garden setting on the north side of Franz Josef. We sat out on the decking overlooking the pond late afternoon listening to birdsong. The rooms were amazing, spacious, well planned with a huge bed and large bathroom. We paid for continental breakfast and were very happy the selection.
