Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomMoths at night! Turning the outside light off and using my phone torch sorted the problem though.
Like camping but more luxurious! Loved waking up to fabulous views in a peaceful location. Our hut was modern inside, even had a t.v. Was spacious and bed was comfy.

New ZealandLots of sandflies so be prepared!
A very special place to visit and stay. The huts were cozy with very comfy beds and pillows. They were quite spacious too. Great kitchen and bathroom facilities shared with just two others. There are several walks on the property with incredible views and delightful farm animals. Alana was a fantastic host! It was a privilege to stay at the station.

Absolutely everything was perfect - location, accommodation and a warm welcome. The location was absolutely magical, especially seeing the amazing sunrise. Our accommodation was spotless, cosy and comfortable. Alana gave us lots of good advice, especially to leave early to walk the Hooker Valley track.

The room was very easy to access. A personal check in note was left for us in the mailbox with a map to our room and the combination as we arrived late. Alana was most hospitable and came by in the morning asking how our trip was and asked if we needed anything. She and her husband have created great hiking trails throughout the property which we enjoyed greatly. As I was also there to photograph the night sky she was very helpful with the local weather forecasts. She also helped with travel tips for our NZ trip

New ZealandI thought it was near Mt Cook Village but it was my fault that I didn’t read the description properly. Though it was very nice at there is not really tourism. The road there is only stones.
It’s in the middle of nowhere and a really good place to relax. Every Hut is very cosy and also the dogs and animals around the farm are very cute and friendly.

United KingdomThe gravel road had us fearful for our car rental.
This is a fabulous experience if you want to get away from it all! The property is literally at the end of the road and an hours drive to the nearest town. You need to ensure that you bring supplies. Accommodation is well equipped and the night sky is amazing and we were fortunate to be there on a clear night.

United KingdomIt was a real privilege to be able to spend two nights at this fantastic location. Our hut was very comfortable and the nearby shared kitchen and bathroom hut was well equipped. Our host Alana was very welcoming and provided lots of useful information. We spent a lovely day at the station doing the nearby suggested walks and were lucky enough to watch the early morning clouds lift and get a view later on of Mount Cook. The clear skies on our second night afforded us a great view of the Milky Way. By the way, the gravel road up to the station is by no means difficult to negotiate and the end result is most definitely worth it.

New ZealandTrivial…….but potential for hooks for clothes in both the bathroom and the hut!!
Superb location…but you know that, and why!! Excellent information and directions before our arrival. On arrival the information was also excellent…..about the history, the walks (not that we walked enough) and the flora and fauna. I think the most significant aspect of our two nights were the conversations with you, Alana. You were busy…but seemed leisured!! I learnt many interesting things about what I was looking at…..and I loved understanding those realities.

United StatesMy only complaint was the hours of weed whacking that disturbed the peaceful surroundings. The huts do not have parking near them so hauling my stuff up the hill was exercise but the location and view more than made up for it. I would stay there for a week in the future.
The location of this property is outstanding. I was blown away by the beauty surrounding everything there. The shared kitchen was well equipped. The bed was super comfy. The owner was great. I just wish I had had a bike.
