Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe pods can get hot and there is no window so it can feel stuffy. Also the rooms themselves are small so not a lot of room to move around each other and luggage. The pod environment can also feel antisocial and not easy to determine if someone is in them. Might be good to have a do not disturb switch/ label I thought the kitchen was small for the size of the hostel. Staff were helpful when I had queries.
This is a pod hostel so it was nice to have a bit of privacy in the dorm and the pods came with multiple charging points, storage pouches and a mirror! Each pod comes with a large locker which can fit a big backpack. It was a modern hostel and the room was clean

AustraliaThe hallways can be quite loud and the sound travels easily as people walk past, the room was very small
The location was great, very close to the SkyDrive bus terminal in the city, just a short easy walk. The staff were very friendly upon arrival and the check in process was quick and easy. The power outlets had USB ports, which also made charging devices very easy.

AustraliaIf you are looking for a vibe rather than comfort and cleanliness this is the spot! Lylo is one of the most expensive hostels in NZ, yet the pods are uncomfortable, fan in the room and fan in the pod were too loud. I stayed in two different rooms and both were noisy. There were no windows in the rooms. toilets and showers were not clean. The kitchen was too small. Only two fridges were supplied and there wasn’t enough space for the food. Not enough dinnerware or kitchenware and worst of all there wasn’t enough prep or cooking area.
Automated check-in and check-outs, having a bar/restaurant on the ground floor, enough seating areas, great number of toilets and showers. Staff is amazing. A Parking spot near by.

New ZealandIf you are being booked into a room without a window, you should be notified when booking. It made me feel quite uncomfortable regarding fire safety and didn't like not having daylight to wake up to. Bed was not very comfortable and bathroom not private at all for a twin share.
Location. Modern.

New ZealandRecieved multiple emails, several each day, prior to and during stay asking me to check in, follow qr codes, click here to get more info but none of the links ever worked. When we did arrive it was easy to check in with a live human at the desk so not sure why all the attempts to make check in electronic? Never recieved reply to my question about late check in when i made booking. We arrived late at night, after 10pm, kitchen was closed. Ability to make or even purchase a cup of tea on arrival would have experience
Great location for CBD. Lovely hot showers. Quiet bedroom. We visited to attend Pink concert and were able to walk comfortably.

United KingdomExpensive for what you got. Lift also didn’t stop at all floors which we weren’t told so had to get out and change lifts to be able to get to our room after checking in.
Felt clean and the bed was comfortable. The facilities even though shared were easily accessible. A good place for a stop over.

NetherlandsNo windows makes you feel rather enprisoned. Very thin walls so neighbours' and general noise is loud. The common kitchen availability is nice, but the smell was horrible when we were there. Not really nice to be around.
Hygiene was good, sufficient showers and toilets. Modern building. Comfortable bed. Good location, relatively near the city centre.

United KingdomThe room was set up as a disabled room, but there was hardly any thought as to how someone (able bodied or disabled) might use the room. There were no hooks on doors or walls, so the only place to leave a towel in the bathroom, for example, was on the toilet seat. There was no toilet roll holder so when the roll fell from its balance point on the handrail onto the wet room floor it was unusable. Similarly in the room there were hardly any horizontal surfaces, just a small bench seat and a single tiny bedside table (no bedside lamps). The room could have been very comfortable with just a little extra imagination and thought.
It was a big comfortable room but…

United StatesRoom 223 was designed by someone who was more interested in flash than function. The wet shower did not easily drain, had standing water around toilet for hours. Had to splash about to get it to drain. Light switches were awkwardly placed. Room was small, which was not a problem, but there were no good places to put luggage, the under bed storage was greatly exaggerated, would only fit a backpack. If you are claustrophobic, ask before you book, our room, a twin ensuite, did not have a window (guess that is an amenity, lol). The room would probably be better as a single if they can figure out the shower situation.
The location.
