Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Property hard to identify from the outside. A suggestion I would make is to have the Parkview mosaic sign on the outside for easier identification. Writing in dim lights could have been improved upon with brighter lighting. Otherwise, no issues.
Lovely hosts to meet and have a chat upon arrival. Ran out to get me when I drove out of their property (I wasn't too sure if I was in the right location, not the only one apparently), with onsite parking. Large room with ensuite and good shower, and kitchenette with all necessary utensils and items, microwave available. Large comfortable bed, warm and cosy. Excellent internet connection. Good seating table area, inside and out. TV, heater and PowerPoints at the bedside all appreciated. Great park across the road to get those steps in! Only stayed a night, would stay again if the opportunity presents. Absolute pleasure!

Very welcoming host. Lovely comfortable accommodation, lots of space and super clean. Lovely bed, great shower and bonus of kitchen area with kettle and microwave. Pretty garden with table and chairs so we could enjoy a cuppa in the sunshine. Great park just across the road. Couple of minutes walk to shops and eating places but very peaceful location. Would love to have stayed for longer.

We booked this for our visiting, non-English speaking parents for one night, to make room for our arriving house sitters before we all travelled the next day. The homeowners were very accommodating, and made everything easy for them. With their own outdoor garden area, a park across the street, and many meal options only a 5-minute walk away (including a grocery), it was perfect for them.

The annex to the family home is an ideal option for a couple within a 20 minute bus journey or 10 minute drive by car to the town centre. The room is well equipped with a kitchenette. The patio area is a pleasant area to read . The hosts are generous and friendly. The area feels secure.

Quiet peaceful outside if the town location with private safe parking. Fully equipped studio with comfortable bed, hot shower excellent Wi-Fi. Very clean. 10 min drive to town. Perfect if you have a car.

A beautifully presented annex to the owners lovely house and gardens. Easy to reach Napier by car. Everything we could need as we did not plan to cook for ourselves and a microwave alone makes it more challenging. Nice park across the street for jogging or walking. Two supermarkets nearby.

we wished we had booked for longer
2nd visit to Parkview in Greenmeadows and even better than we remember. Warm welcome from friendly and responsive host. Beautiful indoors and outdoors and super private - added bonus of off street (carport) parking and a 5 minute walk to shopping centre and New World Supermarket. Spotlessly clean and lovely relaxing spaces.

Nice place run by a lovely couple. Everything is clean and well decorated. When travelling by car you can leave it on their property, supermarket is in walking distance, town center 10 - 15 Min drive. Unfortunately I was there only for one night but it is definitely a place for a longer stay.
