Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Cigarette smell, curtains let in light, mostly used off mini milk in the fridge, body moisturiser was empty but nicely placed in the bathroom, tv kept rebooting its hotel software. Needs a bit of investment - carpets stained, walls marked etc

My flight came in late so I had to use the intercome to get let in. this took a while to get through to the operator. s faster response would have been nice esspecailly after a long flight.
The room was perfect for what I needed. Location was ideal as well.

It was all fine.
I have stayed here several times and never been disappointed. Friendly and helpful staff, good sized rooms and comfortable beds. The location is really good if you want to go to the centre of town.

It is outside the control of the property but my review has a qualification on "location": Hobson Street is central and the property is close to the bus terminal but that part of Hobson Street is also a bit "grungy" even if by world standards it is not really unsafe.
This is a typical Quest property, comfortable and well appointed. My apartment had three rooms: a bedroom, a bathroom and a large living room with kitchen facilities. It is centrally located, a very short walk from the Skycity Bus Terminal from where Intercity coaches to many other New Zealand cities and Skyrider buses to Auckland Airport depart. I arrived early and was able to store my luggage prior to formally checking in. The reception staff were friendly and obliging. My room was very quiet and I had a very good night's sleep on both nights I stayed there.

The view!
Booked a studio room, but for some reason we were put in a one bedroom apartment. Did not complain of course! Everything was clean and tidy and functional. We were in a room at the back of the property and our “view” was looking straight at another apartment block. Not very inspiring. However, I think due to the location of our room we had zero noise; it was very quiet and we slept well. Overall, the room was good, and it was more than adequate for a short stay. The location of the property is very good being on one of the main city streets.

The toilet seat was broken where it affixes to the bowl. The plastering and paint work in my room was very poorly executed. Also, no Sky TV.

Only minor niggles. The dryer isn't ducted to the outside so the bathroom got very steamy. A pair of scissors in the kitchen would have been handy.
Our one-room apartment suited us perfectly for our stay of six nights. Loads of space, two televisions, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer and well located for where we wanted to go. Very quiet (4th floor) and nice and light.

It was not possible to open any windows for fresh air so you had to use the air conditioning. And my television appeared to be controlled on occasions by a neighbouring guest?
I enjoyed my stay. The apartment was a comfortable size for a fortnight. The bed was good, the shower was great, and the housekeeping was excellent.

It is a little dated but that is just cosmetic
Great location! The room I had was well appointed and I really appreciated the Nespresso machine. The staff were also friendly and happily helped with a late check out.

Staff didn't warn me that no room service on Sunday Ran out of body shampoo at Sunday night, maybe have some spare if it is low Like more laundry detergent. Windows need another layer too noisy with crazy cars and humans around
