Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Small circular mirror was situated too high on the wall, would have been a G great space for a full length mirror.

Only got 1 access Key tag, most places give you 2. That can be quite annoying when you need it to access the elevators and trying to go and pick up coffee for your partner in the morning while she stays in the apartment. Also I like to be able to use the stairs as access, but you could not use them as it said that the door was alarmed. I'd like to take the stairs where I can and not always have to use elevators.
Nice and sunny corner room. Located just off Queen Street so was very close to everything. Lots of free movies loaded onto the smart TV was an awesome touch. Love the fact that we had our own washer and dryer plus stove and oven if we needed to cook.

Sadly the apartment had a few faults. Dirty shower floor, broken button on the loo to select short or long flush. Dryer kept cutting out , marks on the walls. For a top company we expected more in the little things

Close to lots of food places and everywhere we needed to go. Good views of the city. Was very handy having 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for 2 couples.

There was only one armchair in a room designed for two people and it wasn't comfortable. The pillows were also not comfortable.
The amenities in the room were good. It was good to be able to do our own meals, at times.

would have liked if i had been notified there was a construction going in front as our room was next to it after booking.
quite close to sky tower and easy check in. receptionist was very polite and was quite prompt in handling out requests.

Charges for three nights were debited to my credit card on expiry of the free cancellation period on 8 January. According to booking.com conditions, one night's accommodation should have been charged at that time and the rest paid at the hotel. This would have enabled us to pay by EFTPOS, as stated in the booking.com conditions. The savings of a few dollars' surcharge was not the problem, but the fact that the stated conditions were not met. We have previously been able to reverse the credit card payment and pay the full amount by EFTPOS at other accommodation places. The view across a building site made spending free time at the hotel undesirable.
Proximity to Intercity bus terminal, Aotea Centre, Art Gallery and Outer Link bus to Newmarket and Parnell.
