Maybe the description of the accommodation. We weren’t sure what kind of accommodation we were staying at until we got there. It was a pretty good guess though by the fact that it had a kitchen, and the cost of the room. It was a hostel.

The location was perfect for doing walks in the Karangahake gorge. It was straight across the rd. Anita, the hostess is amazing. So fun & friendly, and she goes above and beyond. And she is very knowledgeable with the local area.

We loved our time here at Riverside accommodation. Great hosts, great facilities, super comfy, everything you need, felt right at home, and such a great price. Anita is a special lady. We feel so blessed being in her presence and her accommodation.She also knows lots of history on the area, and great at letting you know where to go and what to do, we did it all. Directly across the road is the gorges, so much to do here and for free. Town is a quick 10 minute drive. Waihi just up the road. Spa pool is a hit! We will return. 10/10 from us.

Great stay! Our room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Location was perfect - right across the road from amazing walking/hiking trails and still close to restaurants. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the rest of the property during our one night stay but it looked like a fun place to relax and unwind. Manager Anita gave us a very warm welcome. She knows the area extremely well and set us up for a great afternoon with her advice. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Room was very small and dark. The kitchenette was outside the room and very dark, certainly not as light as shown in the photos. No sound proofing and right next to a busy road, so very noisy. Other guests were excessively noisy and didn't quieten down when asked. There were lots of long dark hairs on the bed and towels, presumably from the housekeeper. Our room was below the managers office and we could hear any phone calls and walking about. We only stayed for a couple of hours as we couldn't take the noise and we have had no refund or offer of a refund.

Nothing - we really enjoyed our stay. Our advice though, is to purchase any groceries you want before you get there so that you don't need to drive the 10 minutes or so to the nearest grocery store to get them later.

We loved this stay! The location was perfect for us as we wanted to hike in the Karangahake Gorge and several hikes started across the street from the property. Anita, the property owner had lots of good advice on which hikes to do (and where to swim in the nearby rivers) and provided us with a map we used during our hikes. She also had good advice on nearby restaurants. The facilities were great. Our room (#1) was large, clean, and comfortable. The shared kitchen had lots of dishes and utensils for cooking and we took advantage for breakfast and lunches. The hot tub was really appreciated after our hikes! We enjoyed the family atmosphere which allowed us to meet and talk with the young ladies working there as well as other guests. We would definitely stay here again if we get back to the area.

Not very clean inside, kitchenware in the deluxe suite is not clean, make sure you clean before use. And cooking appliances are rusty and dirty too. Dusty, with spiders in ceiling corners and spiderwebs everywhere. Deluxe suite has only 1 bathroom as an en suite, so not private for people in there if the 3 beds 8n the lounge are used for other grown-ups or even kids.

The location to Karangahake Gorge is amazing, right across the road. Comfy rexluner chairs in the deluxe suite.

The property needs quite a bit of maintenance and the main road right next to it is quite noisy. Although it is comfortable enough for a one night stay, I wouldn’t recommend it for any longer than that.

" " IN YOUR PRIVATE KITCHEN OVEN, STOVETOP, TOASTER, DINING TABLE none of which was provided, yet we paid for it! The hot tub is a top feature of this double room. THERE WAS NO HOT TUB again a facility we paid for yet did not find! Guests will find a stovetop, THERE WAS NO STOVETOP IN THE ROOM!The double room also includes a barbecue. This air-conditioned double room is comprised of a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a private bathroom as well as a terrace with mountain views. The unit has 1 bed. THERE WAS NO TERRACE. We booke this room as it suited our requirements for a private get away. We were expecting a hot tub in out room, a private kitchen with stove top and oven, a dining table and a terrace. NONE OF WHICH WERE PROVIDED despite being advertised on your site. We raised the issue with the "manager" who advised us that it was YOUR DESCRIPTION and nothing to do with her. We therefore request a partial refund for the facilities THAT WERE ADVERTISED . THAT WE PAID FOR an yet were not provided.

The room didn’t have a private kitchen or spa and the spa wasn’t available for us at all as it is only 2pm till 10pm and you have to book if you want to go in the spa. But it was definitely worth what we paid, just advertised as if it was more of a room with its own deck, spa and kitchen but it’s open for others to use aswell.
