Rustic Rails is a unique place ideal for couples or individuals. The converted rail cars are cosy, well appointed and clean. The site is close to a food store and food outlets on the main street. The communal cooking facility is well equipped. The instructions are clear and concise.

Very quirky & cosy, unusual place to stay. Old converted railway box cars. Renovated to a high standard. Very good facilities. The only issue for us was the heat, it was really hot & no air-con. Other than that, it was very clean & comfortable.

It's was an absolute gem of a find! Everything was to a high standard! Luxurious touches even the shower gel! The onsite kitchen is a fabulous addition.

This place was lovely. Very close to the main street, so within walking distance to a historic hotel where we had a drink with some friendly locals. The old railway carriage brought back memories of trips from Invercargill to Christchurch in the early 1960s. Communication with Sally, Ashlee & family was very responsive. Our accommodation was immaculate... the mattress & pillows were very comfortable & the shower had amazing water pressure. Quality bathroom products are provided as well. We can definitely recommend Rustic Rails Accommodation to other travelers. Many thanks 😊

Great little complex of former railroad cars. Creative interiors and nice setting. We entertained friends on the entry porch. Lovely, quiet, and close to town.

Interesting accommodation from former goods train wagons, which was well kitted out for its new purpose. It had all the essentials for a good stay. Set in a quiet area, yet near the supermarket. Although there was a microwave & kettle in the room, there was a separate communal kitchen with all the essentials to cook a meal.

Quirky, compact unit but exactly as described and expected. Clean, comfortable and a great shower so ideal for a good value short stay in the Dargaville area. Separate kitchen and BBQ facilities are provided and there are plenty of restaurants and a large supermarket very close by. Unit has a deck area with table and chairs and although it doesn’t offer a view, it’s a pleasant place to sit out to eat.

Thanks to the lovely staff at Rustic Rails I had a great stay. As I was on my bicycle, they let me drop some gear off before check time so I didn't have to cart it around. Lovely comfortable bed. Good facilities in the cabin.

If I was picky there is a bit of a gap between the bathroom door and if anyone walked up to the door they could see the person in the shower. But that is a small thing and hardly worth mentioning.

Although we were expecting to be in a small space it was even smaller than anticipated. We had 2 medium suitcases as on a long trip, only one could be open at any time.
