Be mindful an old building comes with issues, and some of the amenities were a little worn and damaged, but its an old pub, what do you expect

Great location, love the old building

Central location, very friendly staff. The toilet was broken in our first room, but the staff relocated us to a different room without hesitation.

Water kept running in the toilet after flushing. We stayed over a weekend and hotel staff who could help were hard to find. Our room was not serviced while we were there. The room was smaller than we expected and did not have adequate space for our luggage. Do be aware there is no lift, and rooms are up two flights of stairs.

Great location, lovely helpful staff. Small building with old world charm. Other guests were quiet and polite. Restaurant was good. Good value for money in this location.

Room a bit overdue for renovation and facilities a bit run down but for the price, the room was fair.

Great comy bed and nice bed linen. Great location. Plenty of character

The barman is also the "receptionist". You're made to feel like a nuisance when checking in at the bar. Remember ear plugs. There was a wet, used towel still in the bathroom, so unsure whether the room was cleaned.

Good location, comfy bed, mini fridge and soap/shampoo. Cheap accommodation so can't expect a lot more.

Great location - but mind the mould

There was mould on the ceiling in the bathroom, the shower didn't drain properly, and the blanket on the bed consisted of a faux mink blanket between two top sheets. It was also up on the third floor (ground floor and first floor were for the bar, second floor and third floor were the rooms) - so only good if you're able bodied.

If you're looking for a central location to shower and sleep on a budget while you're in Auckland, this place will work great! The staff, location, and price were amazing. The bar downstairs had a great vibe. The room came with a mini fridge, heat pump/air con, and bathroom with a shower. The bar was pretty loud when we arrived just after 2pm, but we could barely hear it at all when in our room.

No tea bags, no hand towel, toilet runs on if you don't get extremel vigorous with it. No towel rail. It's an old hotel with loads of character so wear and tear is to be expected, but the place could do with a re-fit.

Historic hotel with loads of character.

We were in room 11 which although was OK for the price I had a concern with the shower. The floor outside the shower sloped away and was covered in linonium which when wet is an extreem safety hazard. Please Please Please put something grippy on the floor before someone slips and breaks their necks, Room 11 is at the top of the Hotel and access for a patient with spinal injuries would be a major undertaking.

Price was good for the location and facility's. Smart TV and reasonable WIFI. Restaurant and pub atmosphere was good.

The rooms are neat but carpets are old and need replacement. The rooms are also very small in a way. There are no lifts so you need to carry your luggage by hand up the fleet of stairs.

The hotel location was right in the CBD which was one of the reasons I liked it. The hotel is old but being maintained.

Super noisy, lots of construction near by at the moment. Not too noisy at night, save for the occasional passing drunk. Could do with a paint, and a mattress protector.

A little run down, but you could tell great effort had gone into keeping the room clean and comfortable. Decent linen. The building was charming, and the team there are great. Free play pool table in the pub was a major plus for me.

The main window to the fire escape didn't have a lock on it. There were a few stray hairs around the room. Very basic facilities. And the room had strong disinfectant smell

It had a lot of charachter and very cozy. Retro feeling like I went back in time which was fun. I liked feeling in the city centre, hearing the hustle bustle, and quirks like climbing through a small window to the balcony.

Visit the brewery, don't stay the night

My key wasn't left in the correct lock box when I arrived, so I couldn't access my room for the first night and had to get other accommodations down the street. Communication with the hotel was very poor and they always seemed confused. The neighborhood is kind of loud.

The brewery is pretty good. The location was conveniently walkable to transit and attractions. It was affordable.
