Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

The dogs that weren’t fenced. One night the kids were too scared to get out of the car so I had to yell until the owner had them secured. Might have been the neighbours but there was no fence and they were next to the lock boxes
Great location with a car. Easy to get onto the motorway. Basic rooms but with everything we needed

Playground up the road for kids. Close to the mall, local shops and Indian takeaway. We had the whole downstairs. Nice and quiet area. Older accommodation but clean and tidy.

Minor things (just being fussy I guess - nothing bad) .. duvet cover a bit old, a lot of light comes into the street-side bedroom and the curtain was hanging off one end of the railing.. I'm tall, so was able to easily fix it. As I said .. just being picky.
Lovely comfy bed, very clean, nice size for 4 people and a quiet neighborhood. Thank you 😊

An extra toilet
When I made a mistake on my booking move out date Vanart was both patient and willing to try and help me find alternative accommodation for the additional night. I couldn’t have asked for a better host.

There is not much to say, because the price was quite low for such an accommodation in AKL. There was a bit of a mushy smell when entering the building, probably difficult to eradicate in a fully carpeted home. Altogether nothing to complain.
Nice single room with access to balcony with calming views over mature Nikau palms and bush. Kitchen well equipped and the whole place had good vibes. Parking was easy.

The stay was fantastic, the facilities are very good and everything is very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had good pressure. There was a washing machine available and the rest time was respected. We parked the car without any problems. I would definitely stay there again.

The room had a smell to it, even though windows were open, but I got used to it, but hit me when I first The room seemed clean, so not sure what smell was..
Was quiet most of the time. Had a family there so was a little noisy, but they were quiet at appropriate time. The street was quiet

The cleanness of toilet should be better since shared for at least 7 if full house. The windows in the living/dining rooms are always open, resulting cold come out from the bed room. Unfiltered noise.
Good home stay. The hosts are really nice and had a great chatting. The forest view is incredible and nice terrace yard. Ample parking. Value for pricing per night. The bathroom and toilet have floor heating system that are good for winter.

The cleanness of the bathrooms could be better. It felt like the toilet was not cleaned daily. The windows in the common rooms were always open, resulting in cold rooms

Some bedrooms are close. Can hear noises and people talking, laughing Would be good for notice put up in bedrooms to inform visitors to keep noise and voice levels low. Shared bathroom and dont know if shower box is cleaned daily.
I brought my own breakfast and food. Clean kitchen and fridge, was able to cook my meals. Cleanliness Good value for money Handy to Glenfield shopping mall 5 mins by car.. Handy to motorway
