Our room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. The hosts Chris and Lyn were exceptional and went out of their way to accommodate us. Breakfast was wonderful; especially having the opportunity to meet and converse with the other guests. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to family and friends.

This property was excellent, so much better than any Motel or Hotel. Beautifully presented and exceptionally clean. Lovely home made breakfast, with lovely people. Also received the recipe for homemade bread.

Attention to detail was spot on, from the homemade biscuits, tea and coffee, guest fridge to warm fluffy slippers. A wonderful opportunity to mingle with the locals whilst being spoilt with a beautiful breakfast and big rooms. So glad we introduced the teenage kids to this way of travelling.

Absolutely nothing - it was perfect! We were sorry we couldn't stay longer and will most definitely book again when we next journey to Wanaka.

Our hosts were fantastic - friendly, helpful and extremely easy to get along with. The location was very handy and we were able to walk into town. The room was beautifully presented and had everything we needed. We enjoyed a very satisfying homemade breakfast before our departure - wonderful local fruit in the home made jam etc.

Great hosts and breakfast - Able to choose time that suits, lots of food variety and home baked bread (yum). Close to the city centre and ski hire shops. Loft room much bigger than it looks on website and massive King size bed!

The owners were very welcoming. Our room was very lovely with comfy beds, nice decor and all the facilities we needed, included tea & coffee making facilities. The owners were friendly, helpful and served us a delicious breakfast. Lynn’s beautiful artwork around the house was an added bonus.

My husband and I were in town for a wedding. We asked for a late check out so we could enjoy a sleep in as we were away from our busy lives and 3 children. We were asked why we wanted a late check out. It felt like we were staying with our parents. We didn't take up the offer of breakfast as didn't need the small talk on our holiday. The whole experience was awkward and we felt like the listing wasn't clear about bc we wouldn't have booked had we known we were in a room in someone's house, needing to take our shoes off on entry, and sneak in late a night so we didn't wake anyone.

The room was clean and spacious. It wasn't clear enough in the listing that we were literally staying in a room in within the hosts house.

We very much felt like we were staying in a bedroom in somebody’s house. Our bed was under the low point of a slanted roof and my partner still has marks on his head from standing up from rested position. Having to remove our shoes upon entering the house was annoying. Breakfasts of yogurt and cereal were good but could have been more varied with some egg choices, pancakes etc.

Almost everything. The owners were weird. We didn’t feel comfortable and welcomed. This is definitely not a place for people who want great hospitality. No fun.

1) Regular check-in time is 4-6pm. 2) No daily housekeeping, as advertised. 3) No free toiletries, as advertised. 4) No concierge service, as advertised. 5) No tour desk, ad advertised. 6) No desk, as advertised. 7) Pictures in the advertisement are misleading. You only have use of the room you are staying in, not the other facilities - loungeroom, courtyard, and BBQ area. It is the owner’s private home, and they use those areas themselves as well as closing the access door early in the evening. 8) Rooms are not soundproofed as advertised. Bedrooms on second level above the kitchen and loungeroom area. Old creaky house so you can hear every noise. Owners had guests over for dinner one of the nights we stayed. It was very noisy the entire time until late at night. 9) Two windows - one faced the clothesline. I had to keep the blinds drawn for privacy. 10) Breakfast time not flexible or relaxing. We were given two breakfast time options, 8:30am or 9am, no exceptions. They rushed us so they could clear the table quickly and "get on with their day" as they quoted, which consisted of pottering around the house. If you are not there at exactly 9am, they'll knock on your door calling out for you to come down. The breakfast was continental – toast, fruit, and yogurt. A full breakfast would have been appropriate considering the cost of the room. We had to sit with them and were told where to sit – awkward! Not every guest likes conversation in the mornings when they are on holiday and tired from traveling, especially when one of the owners likes to express their racist political views. 11) Only x2 mugs and teaspoons were supplied in the room. No cutlery, plates, or bowls. When asked for a plate and knife we were questioned why. On our second day, we asked for x2 clean mugs we were questioned again.
