Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandThe kitchen area was lovely and bright. The location is great. The private twin room felt more like a hotel room than a hostel.

FranceThe bed are really comfortable, the dormitory is just 3 twin beds so it was perfect to me. You are close to the lake and everything. The kitchen and living room are really spacious. When it's sunny, you can go on the terrace and you are near by the NewWorld if you need to buy some food before to cook. The staff is friendly and helpful.

New ZealandThe ensuite was basically a cupboard so using toilet and shower would be dangerous for someone with mobility issues. No tv in room, sound traveled from surrounding rooms very easily. I think the rooms could have used having a small fridge inside,,
Super convenient location, literally a 5 minute walk to the nearest supermarket and the part of nearby Ardmore Street where buses leave from. decent wifi, room had toilet and shower. Very clean premises.

United StatesI probably would have given this stay a perfect rating had it not been for one thing. Upon arrival I inquired if there was any kind of arrangement for just females to stay in a room. I was told there are no female only rooms but they may try to put genders together if possible. I was told at least one female would be in my room but it was not certain if a male would be in the third bed. In the room it was me, the female mentioned and a male. It was fine the first night but the second night the female left and it was only the male and me. Long story short, he ended up asking me if I wanted to hook up since it was just the two of us. I politely declined, and he didn't bother me much further thankfully, but I didn't appreciate being put in that position late at night, with no real alternatives. This is why the hostel should consider implementing some all female dorms or at least being stricter about placing female travelers together at least when requested.
The bedroom setup itself is great! No stupid bunk beds! The beds were very comfortable and good linen and warmth provided. Really appreciate the towel that was provided. The view outside was nice. The kitchen and communal areas are some of the best I've seen for a hostel. The location of the hostel is awesome and having the big supermarket next door is a huge bonus.

United KingdomNo air-conditioning in the rooms so it gets hot! The kitchen can be a bit of a mess at times.
The location is brilliant! Also kitchen had pretty much all the amenities and a nice patio area to have food, coffee and drink. Good WiFi and lots of seating space in the common area. Really good food options around as well and a huge supermarket right behind the hostel.

New ZealandActually can't think of anything.
Great location. More than adequate facilities for a backpackers, was clean comfortable, we had our own ensuite, there were also communal rooms for tv, to play games, tea and coffee making facilities free. Great value for money, no need to spend extra.

United KingdomIt is a big building, so you could be at the end of the corridor and the toilet/shower/kitchen is a little bit of a walk away!
Great location - super close to the supermarket. Kitchen was massive, and kept really clean. Lots of cooking space, as well as eating space. I was in a 3 person bedroom - not bunk beds which was nice. Good wifi, nice staff. It was a nice place to stay for a few days.

AustraliaOne of showers in first floor ladies bathroom had no where to put your soap/ shampoo or to hang your towel or clothes. An outside clothes line would have been very useful, since many fabrics are not suitable for dryers. Plugs missing in the kitchen sinks. A lot of the saucepan handles are loose and dangerous. Maps of the town should be available so you can orientate yourself immediately.
