The house is beautiful, spacious, and comfortable, with a large living and dining area. The kitchen is super well-equipped. In addition to air conditioning, the wood fireplace and electric blankets on each bed kept us very warm during the cold days. The location is quiet yet conveniently close to Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier. We would definitely love to come back!

This was a highly memorable stay despite the fact that because of a cyclone we were unable to fulfil our plans for Franz Josef. The house is supremely comfortable and has a wonderful wraparound balcony, where you can have a drink and watch the native NZ birds at close range. It has very well-equipped kitchen facilities and lovely bathrooms. It is also very clean and has a fantastic wood burner, which proved a life saver when coming in from the rain. The house is situated in a private cul de sac, surrounded by lush greenery (we had the chance to see for ourselves why the greenery is so lush in that region!). The host was very responsive, caring and helpful. The stay here was a definite highlight of our trip.

United States1 review“Great place to stay in Franz Josef. Very homey and relaxing with a lot of space to spread out.”The house was great for our stay in Franz Josef to do the glacier heli-hike. The kitchen was outstanding for cooking our own meals and the fireplace came in handy the night after hiking the glacier and glow worm cave. The whole experience of the house was relaxing and a nice break from the hotels we had been staying in.

This is exceptional value for a 6 bed house. Highlight of our stay In New Zealand. Excelled despite the poor weather. The pantry was amazing and the garage!
