We weren't expecting the "backpackers" type facilities, the shared kitchen was very well thought out and the shared fridge and food storage was OK but unexpected The room was very small with just one chair, there was a wooden seat outside on the veranda which we managed to squeeze in up one side of the bed so we could both sit and watch telly - no TV in shared kitchen/lounge space The bathroom sink was tiny and the curtains didn't fully cover the windows

The location was great and the couple running it were very friendly

For the price, The Lazy Shag was great. No issues.

Staff very helpful and responded quickly to queries. Room provided everything that was needed. High expectations of cleanliness in the large kitchen area which was respected by people staying there.

Not all rooms were equal in amenities. Not all rooms had a fridge or tea making facilities in room, but a communal kitchen was available within easy access.

Rooms were fit for purpose at a good price. Location was excellent for our purpose.

TV was tricky to operate, but we hardly used it. Cash only. No air-con.

Plenty of space and the kitchen was well equipped with plenty of cutlery and crockery, with cooking facilities.

Easy to find and centrally located. The room was quiet at night. Owners were friendly and welcoming. Parking was available outside the room.

Only one point of concern … RF (I measured Electromagnetic Intensity in the order of 3000 to 6000 mWatt/m…. Compare this to German Building Guidelines of 0.1mW/m… in NZ they don’t care about the carcinogenic effect of RF ! But should !

I did not cook, however, facilities were close by!

It is rather dated and sad. But you get what you pay for :) Only 1 power socket for the entire room. Luckily we had brought our own multibox and extension cord.

We were warmly welcomed. Unbelievably they operate with no computer! Totally manual paper processing. The rooms were exactly as we expected. Shower was good and hot. The shared kitchen was good - 2 big fridges and a smaller freezer. Plenty of pots and pans etc. Parking was a little tight but do-able. Sheets and pillows were provided and clean. Location was very good. Laundromat 2 doors down - 5 x $2 coins required for a washer and dryer and no change machine.

Maybe could of done with a wee couch or table in the room as the only place to sit was the bed and one chair and there were two of us

Nothing really. Having to pay in cash was odd but not too much of a problem.

Good location. Nice tidy rooms and good to have an ensuite. Kitchen amenities were also good.

My room was adjacent to a cafe next door, and the room would get the smell of food if the windows were left open during the day. Would be nice if they could provide more tables or stands to put the luggage. More hooks would be handy too.

The kitchen was nice and clean. I liked the ensuite bathroom. It was not located in the middle of the township but close enough to get to the train station, cafes and supermarkets.
