Really nice host, showed us around, and pointed out the back garden gate, with direct access to the Virginia Lake Reserve. A great place for an evening stroll. Easy parking on their large driveway. Lovely, large, comfortable room. Great bed, we slept really well. Great shower, plenty of hot water. All clean and well maintained. Microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle, plus we were given bread, cereal, milk, etc. Very nice, happy to recommend.

An enjoyable breakfast was provided. The location was great especially the walk around Victoria Lake out the back gate. The bed was very comfy.

Night lights, be nice. Bed, lower than expected. Base,too wide,protruding from edge of mattress, uncomfortable getting out of bed. Visitors may cause injuries to themselves at night, as the bedbase is significantly wider and lower, prone to be banged into. Eat out, no space/utensils, for cooking/washing up.

First, the hosts were absolutely a delight to talk to.... The accommodation was exceptional: absolutely first-class: the space, the bed, the bathroom. Everything upper-end. Excellent! The fact that we could exit the property and walk around the scenic lake, with its wildlife, was an additional plus!

The property is owned and run by a very nice family who ensured that I had everything I needed. The suite is a good size, and very comfortable.

An extra blanket would have been helpful. Small amount of noise from family living upstairs, but this did not disturb us at all.

Wondeddul communication and the Host came out to greet me and took me to the suite and gave me a little tour. Bed was really comfortable and lovely bedding.. Bathroom was lovely and clean and a wonderful double walk in shower. Room had a buffett table with breakfast cereals and spreads for toast - the peanut butter was delicious. Location is about 5 minutes from town and in a lovely quiet neighborhood

There is nothing not to like.

Fantastic accommodation and location: separate lodgings with a private entrance in a home giving access to lovely Virginia Lake. The suite is spacious and everything surpassed our expectations, from the layout-access (although the suite is part of a home, it is totally private) and the quality of furnishings/linen/spaciousness, etc. Alka is a lovely host, facilitating easy check-in and (late) check-out and ensuring that we had everything we needed for breakfast and a comfortable stay. We wouldn't hesitate to return here should we back in the Whanganui and thoroughly recommend it to any visitors to the city.

Lovely walk around Virginia lake and Winter garden out the back gate. The breakfast with coffee, yogurt, toast and granola was delicious. The bed was comfortable and the bathing facility was spacious. I wish I had more than one night to explore the area. Great communication with host.

The location was close to a local landmark Victoria Lakes park with access via a back gate. The view from the room overlooking the park trees was excellent.

Some wine glasses would have been good. Facecloths weren't initially provided but when asked for were provided within minutes.

The room had everything we needed. It was pretty warm so the heat pump/cooler was great and didn't disturb us during the night. We took our own breakfast, so didn't really partake of the breakfast provided, although the bananas were great! A small fridge was available. Great two head shower which we didn't have time to try out. Lovely access to the walkways at Virginia Lake. I would happily stay again.
