Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

For us the bed was a little firm.
Lovely place to stay, not far from our family so great location for us. Very well set up with everything needed. Great shower. Information provided was spot on, nice clear instructions.

Location is a bit isolated, so you'll need to drive to get to grocery stores or restaurants. Entrance is from the parking of the main house as well.
Host was very welcoming, the studio was great, big, quiet and fully facilitated. It was a perfect place to rest after quiet a few weeks of traveling and camping. Private parking (although my van was too tall to fit) and lots of parking on the street.

The smoke detector above the cupboard flashed a green glow intermittently which was very bright in the dark!
Quiet location, very clean & fresh room. Great instructions for access to property.

The bed mattress was a little bit firm, but I was still able to sleep on it 😊
It had everything!!!! A fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, tv, body wash, shampoo, soap, literally anything you would need, they had it!!! The place was so clean and modern. The shower was incredible!!!!!! Didn’t want to leave.

The gate situation could be improved but nothing too serious that it’s a deal breaker.
Really nice to see subtle improvements with each stay (e.g. furniture placement). Easy check in and out.

Sounds like u need to get the toilet looked at. You might have blocked pipes as the toilet makes a gurgling sound

Night lite ran out of power but didn't cause problems. The shower floor was a bit slippery for older folks so we had to be very careful. Clearer instructions for the use of the microwave would have been helpful but we figured it out in the end.

The couch and bed. The couch was quite old and uncomfortable to sit on. The bed was very hard. Perhaps a padded topper would help with this? We were only staying the one night so this wasn’t too much of an issue for us.
The location was great for us as we needed to be in Henderson. The property was immaculate and this is very important for us.

The location is a bit far from Auckland City
Very nice studio with everything we needed inside. Comfortable and clean, includes all the necessary facilities. The house owners were very kind and extremely helpful!

Bathroom was really cold so kept the door shut to retain heat in rest of property. I struggled with the gate chain and lock.

It was absolutely perfect! The property felt even bigger than what it looks like in the photos! Easy access and good instructions from the host on the day of check-in! Clean, tidy, had everything you need in the kitchen, bathroom and the room itself! Perfect for a quick trip to West Auckland alone or with a friend or partner! Loved it!

There was a ticking clock above the fridge and we couldn't reach it to remove the battery, so the ticking was quite loud at night - I understand that's just my personal preference, but some other people might find it annoying too.
The studio was easy to find. We had great instructions from the host regarding keys and access, and it was very clean. There were plenty of power outlets, a decent fridge and a good heat source. The place was very warm and comfortable.

The shower has/had a pressure problem so if you weren't super precise it would be super hot or very cold. Besides that, the place was fantastic.
Lovely quiet location, clean and spacious room. Our host was very kind and was very respectful of our privacy too! Would highly recommend this location to anyone.
